I was wondering if this would work for the Miss Maggie handbag (on the side seam or one in front & one in the back near the side seam) so I can attach a crossbody strap as well as keep the handbag strap? For me, the handbag straps are perfect for picking up the bag; however to carry it, I prefer a crossbody strap as I walk with a cane. I do realise there is a snap on the side seams of the Miss Maggie handbag...

Thank you for the cute bag pattern and a great tutorial! Can't wait to sew mine. I saw one of your testers' (Michelle Graham) bag and it was made from Tula Pink quilting cotton. So I'm thinking I will sew mine from Tula's Nightshade line! I'm very excited but will remember to slow my roll.

Looking forward to making this. It will be my first. Question . . . Do we need to use fusible fleece or interfacing? Can we use sewn in fleece or interfacing? Thanks!
@JanelleMacKayEmmalineBags10 ай бұрын
Yes you can! You can use whatever you like. The fusible fleece/interfacing tends to add extra structure, and when cut smaller than the pattern pieces, the seam allowances are less bulky to sew through, so there are less layers. If you sew-baste in fusible fleece or interfacing, there will be added thickness in the seams. So while you can do it, I would caution against it if you don't have a machine that can handle the added layers.

I love the look of this bag. I’ve watched the video three times now, and read through the directions. I’m having a terrible time with the “scant quarter inch” on the zipper lining pieces, especially the top stitching of the zipper trying to capture that scant quarter inch!

You make this look so easy. I just made the Mini NCW and couldn't seem to catch the zipper pocket in the side pieces. It looks like using a rivet would have been so much easier but I'm afraid to try using them. I never had any luck with a press like the one you showed and grommets. Do you know if installing rivets are easier?
