  Only touristy places like Toronto and Niagara Falls charge for everything because of high demand. Other places in Canada are not like that :) Hope you had a nice trip other than getting charged for every little thing!

  Probably a dust particle very close to the lense as it has a glint orientation. If the camera generates any heat then there will be a slight convection current drawing the particle in and pushing it up.

  A soul was captured the only way to be sure is to freeze the motion of a soul orb on your smartphone and zoom in on the subject of the orb and if you look closely you may see a face of a person. What you need to do is to turn off the lights in the room at night and turn your light on on your video smartphone and record they will be drawn to the light of your smartphone be very very patiently and wait for it. I myself have witnessed a medieval night and his eight year old son in one orb of two souls.
