I’m glad we didn’t have to face that scenario…..because I know to draft another Dman in first round would send Hab fans to the local bra to drink, drink, and more drink….just thinking about their lack of scoring. Good conversation though…you guys are great. Thank you….

Iginla no matter what. Steer clear of Russians that are not physically present or have plans to go back over the summer. Last thing a team needs is a top pick getting drafted by Putin.

"no one trades #1 defensemen" Ottawa traded Karlsson, Edmonton traded Coffey, Boston traded Borque, Montreal traded Suban and Robinson, Nashville traded Weber, Burns? Sergachev? Chelios?...

Should we go back to the 1940s as well to try to find examples? You’ve mentioned 9 examples spanning 5 decades. You’re proving our point. And Sergachev wasn’t a #1 when he was traded. But I digress. 😂

well mate maybe stop drafting off the board and take the best player available. You should NOT have taken reinbacher last year. do not pull the same shit this year.

If Habs believe Buium is the next best than great pick. This would set up the Habs (if they want) down the road to move an asset Guhle,Mailloux,Hutson.......A great position to be in to get a piece the team might need at that time. How many #1or#2 Dman ever get traded before they hit their prime????? NOT VERY OFTEN

2 weeks of this nonsense…. Another day and finally this can all end. Until they make the pick then we have the same “experts” arguing if the pick was the “wright” pick or the “Slaf” pick Iginla if Demidov is gone is a huge win, same for Sennecke. Lindstrom is a big risk, for a team that is so injury prone no need to draft a player with such a risk. Already small at forward don’t need a Buium with Hutson already onboard, if they draft a D draft a RD, only have 4 RD prospects in system Mailloux, Reinbacher, Barron, Bogdan. Hutson, Mailloux, Barron, even Ghule can together all make up Matheson’s offense and play better defensively. Trade Matheson buy low - sell high, why wait, if you take away his plus minutes he was in the 40 pts range. Ghule was doing all the defending and getting pummeled in the corners while Matheson was skating around and serving pizzas Keep Savard to play beside Hutson until Reinbacher / Bogdan are ready The top Pair I see in future will be Ghule TWD Bogdan TWD in a shut down role Hutson OFD Reinbacher DFD Will be the second top 4 pair The bottom pair to choose from will be mix of Wifi/Trudeau/Strubble/Engstron on the LD Barron/Mailloux on the RD Strubble can be both LD/RD Harris I like but I just don’t see a fit in future, a good asset to move or package with a high pick for a ready FWD preferably PWF

Montreal is not going to take a left defense i can't see it. I think you are forgettimg that Tij ignilia is 17 not 18 and he was weeks away from being draft eligible until next year. He is going to be a star forward. I don't doubt it.

''Look at the weight'' you really think he'll stay 165 lbs his whole career ? Nah, he'll be like 175-180 once he mature enough physically, not that bad for a 5'10 guy, especially if it's muscle. You put him with a stud defenseman like a Guhle or something like that and it's good for a 1st or 2nd pair. Hutson is really good offensively, he certainly can become a Quinn Hughes type of player. Will he do it though ? It's up to him.
