Hi, I’m Maria! I used to hate coding. My mission is to make tech more fun for everyone :)
A bit more about me: I just graduated a computer science degree from a university in Toronto, Canada and also was in the Shopify Dev Degree program. I now work at Twitch as a Software Engineer in San Francisco 😎

I can't thank you enough as ur video on tips and tricks motivated me to participate in an online hackathon and trust me I learned so much. It would be really nice if you post regularly bcoz your vibe and experience motivates me to do more everyday.
Thanks for sharing! Got a glove80 keyboard recently and my wpm is taking an absolute beating. Comforting to know it’s normal 😅
Thanks a lot for this wonderful information
Participated in an online hackathon and had a great experience but we didn't make up to finals, but were in the top 20 from 100 teams. Feeling kinda bad tho as we tried our best🥺 But thanks for your tips and tricks.
That’s so amazing! The most important part is that you went and did it
Thankyou so much. Btw, new update is that they really liked our attitude and hardwork nd guess what they are gonna gift us some really cool customized swags😆

Yes! You go there to learn more
Your vibe is just wow
How did you find this event?
I think it was on the Major League Hacking website
I should try definitely
Helpful!!!❤❤❤
This is so cool!! In Brazil the Production Engineer is totally different. A Production Engineer works in Industry.
I'm going to a hackathon of my bank I love the networking opportunities 😊
how can i find my first hackathon
Depends on where you live. The Major League Hacking organization has a website with a list of hackathons if you are a university student
i want to be a part of hackathon!!! its boring to work or learn alone
Thanks a lot for these useful informations! My goal for 2024 is to participate in a hackaton.
When will you upload again? 😪
Thanks Maria. Love your videos ❤❤❤
Hi! I’m thinking of going to UofT for cs would I still be able to apply to the dev degree?
Hi! No unfortunately you have to be at one of the participating schools and UofT isn’t one of them
Awesome 🎉
Thanks for the awesome video!!! I sent you a message on LinkedIn, I hope that's ok :)
Amazing video. Thank you so much
Hello Maria, Will they consider a Mature Student? can I apply straight to the Dev Degree Program or do I need to apply to University first?
I love your beautiful :)

I have joined THE Broccoli Army!! hiyah!!
I know the braces are probably gone by now but they are adorable and you are beautiful
did you do maths? if so, what specifically did you use?
What do you mean? I did take maths courses in university but did not use them in this internship
@@mariasitkovets Yeah, I was referring specifically to this internship. I was wondering if you did them at all.
This is super helpful. I'm debating trying to work two full time ones at the moment. One in person, one remote
Thanks! I didn’t expect to hear from so many people who want to try this. I’ve met some people in person too who have done it and it doesn’t seem too bad other than figuring out what to do when meetings conflict. In my case mine were at separate times so that worked out.
I just got into tech last year at 27 & i wanted to do a CS degree and i have been looking for scholarships & this is a really good option, now to figure out how to pay for flights and accomodation 😩. Thank you for this video.
Wooo that’s so cool that you decided to get into it! Yeah it’s a really good program for any age and a great scholarship as well ❤️
My first internship doing backend work starts in a little under two weeks. It's for a small tech company, and I'm VERY nervous to say the least, but this video has helped me feel a bit more comfortable! So thank you for that!
Thank you for leaving such a nice comment Riley! That’s really exciting and I hope you learn a lot 😊
Literally everyone i've met: you're so smart and talented me: Wow I can't believe i managed to fool so many people but something that helped me: it's not that when you think "i'm dumb" you're wrong. it's that, you're assuming everyone else isn't humans are silly and dumb, it's just about how you can manage it and how dumb you are! we have this high standard for ourselves that maybe sometimes nobody can achieve.
what a sweet girl
how's the c++ version?
i got rejected :/
The moonlander is a columnar stagger keyboard. Ortholinear is a grid
I am teaching myself to develop with freecodecamp and many people recommend doing a volunteer or hackathon to test what I have learned and network. I found your explanation very good, you gave very good tips. 🖖
Loved the suggestions ✨
Thank you ☺️
