  Where did you hear that they've retired from making albums? I know that they've been taking it slowly since "Underworld" (as they said they would), but as far as I know, they haven't retired.

  @@reedpeterson6512 Yeah, and GRRM is "taking it slowly" with Winds of Winter. Look, Symphony X will always be my second favourite band behind Zep but the reality is that they just don't have it anymore, whether it be creatively, mentally, physically etc. to put out new material. They are like that athlete that hasn't played a game for several years but hasn't 'officially retired' but everyone knows they're done. And that's fine.

  I think the whole project stopped after the singer had a deadly incident with his own band ( a couple of band member died if i reckon correctly) a few years ago, he said he wanted to take a break after that but you never know...

  😀👍Great song and lead vocals!! But I feel like the band is being drowned out mainly by the extremely loud vocals I can barely hear the drummer especially his bass drums, drums are meant to be heard loud and clear like in Pantera!! But also the guitar and bass should be heard at the same level as the drums!! This comment is from listening to the song on my cell phone!!

  They are writing a new album right now. Was supposed to be out this year still but it will probably be early next year at this point. Hopefully get a single or two this year!

  @@erikrevier4053 No offense to the band, but, I found Underworld to be a bit flat & boring overall.🙄😒 I do hope the next 1 is far better than Underworld was!😒

  @@v-for-vendetta1776 I thought underworld was a little lacking compared to their previous albums as well. I still really enjoyed it but they have set the bar pretty high for themselves with their previous discography. If you go to their wikipedia page it explains a little bit of why it's been so long. Their lead singer Russel was in a tour bus crash with his other group where two people died and he stepped away from performing for a while, then right when they started coming back Covid hit, now they wrapped up their first post covid tour and are working on the new album. If you haven't checked our their guitarist Michael Romeo's solo albums, he has released 2 of them, one in 2018 and the second one in 2022, they are fantastic and in a similar vein to Symphony X as he is their main writer and composer.

  So glad you guys are able to get out there and tour again. I don't know if you've nailed down a theme for a new album, but you should check out the artist zdzisław beksiński. The worlds he creates are so interesting and make me wonder what myths and legends the creatures living in those worlds would tell. It's a little different than the classical myths you've drawn on before, but maybe seeing his work will lead to some novel inspiration. There's a beautiful darkness there that I think would offer a lot to chew on.
