Thanks for a great video to help me prepare for Sunday. Your video popped up in my KZread feed today, which isn't a surprise as I'm watching everything I can to learn about what to expect in Chicago before I fly from the UK on Friday to take part on Sunday. This will be my 4th marathon and my second world major (I've run London twice). My 3rd marathon was in 2019 when I ran in a small local race to get a GFA time (3:36) which I used to secure a place in the 2020 Chicago marathon...we all know what happened that year. I chose to defer to 2023 as I turned 50 this year. Now I'm just hoping that I can have the mental and physical strength to finish in sub 4h. I'll be travelling alone so anyone else who is in wave 1 (red), corral E please say hello when you see a scared looking small Welsh woman.

I see so many runners with these shoes and I am on the fence. What if you need stability? Are these shoes a big no? I would assume so?
@HeartbreakRun Жыл бұрын
I think it's worth giving them a test. Try them for a short, try them over a longer run if that goes well, be cautious. If you don't trust them over long distance with personal trial and error, I can confirm as a stability wearer that they are great for racing 5 miles and under. (I haven't raced a marathon in the super shoe era so I can't speak to that distance personally.) - @coachdanbos

Go to a specialized running store and have them put you on the treadmill to see which shoes would be best for you.

He probably receives about the same respect as I would imagine. Some don’t like him cause he takes T, others don’t care. It is what it is. I enjoy watching him.
