    Interesting, but I think the problem you're highlighting is the Wrong way to apply the golden circle and the FAKE why, not the model in it self which I think excellent and working. Unfortunately, many brands in a ridiculous way are showing their eco-friendly products to save the planet but in their backoffice, their process are completely the opposite. Also in 7:40 you're saying "start by design a product the change the world to better", well this is the WHY not really the WHAT that we starting with.

    Love the american mindset (dreamers and lovers of storytelling) vs german mindset (sober, practical and straight to the point). There's something to be said for both, depends on the brand.

    "Everything in marketing should be tracked, monitored, and optimized!" These are indeed wise words. At JetSoftPro, a software development service, we've abided by this principle for over 20 years, and it's not just a theory; it consistently delivers excellent results!

    Maybe interesting for sellers … rather dangerous for buyers🤦🏻‍♀️ I can only warn to shop in Catawiki! Catawiki is not consumer friendly, stressful until you get the parcel and the total cost are often higher then the item itself. Horrible customer service when you have problems and chaotic communications. My si cere advise: stay fare away from Catawiki ⚠️🚨👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽🫣

    I just have to say, this guy does know that Amazon spending only 3% of it's revenue it still the equivalent of a multi-BILLION dollar marketing campaign, right? It's so pointless to compare literally any company to Amazon.

    Very Cynical Approach. I don't believe Sinek states that every company claims to change the world, but he does say that if leaders within companies start with the "why" of the company, they then inspire workers within the company to get on board with the "how" and the "what", and to seek ways to improve and innovate. As Richard Branson says " look after your staff, and they will look after your customers". If your "why" is "to make a profit", then your staff will only be inspired by pay checks and pay rises, and will be less likely to to innovate and act accountably. Rather they will perfect the existing, and hide mistakes. with this culture, the company will become stale, and eventually die...

  • @brunoamorim6669
    @brunoamorim6669Ай бұрын

    His analysis is indeed very cynical, as obviously not every brand is trying to save the world. But The great majority of businesses only exist to make a profit, and that's ok. I belive the issue with the golden circle approach is believing that EVERY business should have a WHY, when in reality having a Unique Value Proposition would do much better. If there is no drive other than making a profit, creating a brand story with a WHY becomes disingenuous. The leaders would only be lying to themselves and to the ones they lead, and the people will notice that. People are very good at spotting fakes.

    Hey, this is a great channel! Cookieless future will definitely have a huge impact! I think you're right that a-/b testing and looking for incremental sales is key. But, how exactly would you set up & track the test group vs. the control group? How will you know which users have been exposed to an ad if tracking is much more difficult now? If you could make a video on this topic, I'd really be interested! Cheers from Switzerland (I noted you guys are Berlin-based, cool stuff 😊)

    Hi @s.j.9665 So, we know what set of audiences we want to target out of the universe. I believe this is the test group she is referring to. and then within this test group which channel is bringing in a better performance.

    Yes. This approach is also true just the other approach of Simon Sinek. Uptill now in life I've observed that theres no absolutetism in anything in this world. Everything point of view can be true depending on the context, individual situations, etc. Sir your concept is valid exactly like when a high school pass out student wants to choose a career path, it is not necessary that he/she will have a definate purpose in life,(as that is not the age when one will no any purpose of life😆) so they can go with what they want, what they like and that also helps just like it has helped me.

    Very interesting points made. I have been using the Golden Circle approach for every brand I've created so far, and many of the things you pointed out in this video I had already noticed and was dissatisfied with, especially when dealing with B2B brands.

  • @SimonWalter-vf7tg
    @SimonWalter-vf7tg Жыл бұрын

    Many thanks for your comment. And yes, you're right, although it shouldn't be that way, many B2B brands struggle to come up with a compelling Belief or "Why'", why it helps to go from the outside to the inside of the Golden Circle instead and start with "What".

    Clearly the only thing you have watched is Simon's TED talk. When Simon talks about vision, it needs to be attainable or something you can SEE. If you're looking to sell shaving kits, and your company's vision is to make the world a better place, then they do that by including all people, you've just proved @SimonSinek ('s) golden circle. Not all products are marketed to everyone. You need to know your target demographic when marketing products. That is what builds success. Otherwise, it looks like you're in it for the bottom line and that's really not sustainable long term.

    what is with this trope of "we're bringing the world out of poverty". What poverty? You mean the natural world? Introducing our systems of governments and economics that quite literally introduce the concept of poverty is not the movement

    "Strategy is NOT a 5 year vision, is NOT the yearly bullshit ‘strategic planning’ ritual you still see in enterprises etc." <= you see that a lot in many ... not enterprises, but start- and grownups. And it I'm under the impression that it's growing. Hence the beating, cause the strawman is growing. I agree with the positive aspects you describe, though I find them fluffy, but that is probably normal in a short comment. I however wouldn't call that "strategy", unless you just call everything strategy - which happens a lot. So if you just call the structured tactical and operational thinking and action "strategy", then yes... you could say that's great.

  • @brsma
    @brsma Жыл бұрын

    Is there still anyone outside of sleepy corporate incumbents around who has such an outdated and incompetent understanding of strategy? The points addressed are valid, but it sounds a bit like beating on a strawman. Strategy is NOT a 5 year vision, is NOT the yearly bullshit ‘strategic planning’ ritual you still see in enterprises etc. Strategy clarifies what you intend to do (and what not) in order to achieve a mission and gain positional advantage. Strategy is about creating situational awareness and figuring out the best options for movement. Strategy enables coherent action. Why not rather show what good contemporary strategy may look like?
