    Hi Dr Renee so glad I found this. I have a myrena coil the end date was last month but struggling to find a doctor to replace it they are worried because of my age 57 it could pierce my womb so I’ve asked to be referred to a gynaecologist but could have to wait up to 12 months ! I asked for progesterone to protect my womb in the meantime but concerned how it would work as I won’t bleed whilst I have a coil , I have been prescribed ultrogestan 100mg should I take it ?

    Hi. You don’t need to bleed, just to keep the lining suppressed and 100mg utrogestan every night is sufficient until the mirena change. R

    I just loved this video. I’m 65 and suddenly a few months ago, vaginal dryness (it felt to me like so much more than that, there was constant jabs, so shocking and distressing). No discharge, never had much trouble ‘down there’. Few awful recent weeks and searching for info on what’s gone wrong.. didn’t have a uti until last year, first one. Had vaginismus as a young married woman, taboo subject back in ‘90’s. Conquered that on my own, so wanted to be a mum, was blessed with our daughter. It’s so good that this is now shamelessly out in the open and the (today’s) me of 30+ years ago needn’t experience the loneliness of this if she has access to great info like was spoken on this video. I am taking the lowest vaginal oestrogen, not bothering with the applicator (things - vag walls I felt must be thinner, etc..at 65), found another doc on KZread telling patients/public viewing the video to “throw away the applicator “. Well this helped me very recently and I apply a small amount size of a green pea to the specific area. Bingo! Starting to help quite a bit, not perfect but I get a good number of hours in the day when I am fine. Still at the initial stage of every evening, then I guess I will tail it off to maybe 3 times- ish a week. It’s brilliant and so reassuring to listen to open chat like this video. Thanks so much! I think I may try applicator if I feel I want to.

    As a patient, you can do whatever you feel works for you. You don't ordinarily need progesterone when taking supplements that are oestrogenic, because they tend not to be very effective at raising oestrogen. However, it may be worth a try, so just seek out phyto-oestrogenic food and supplements.

    Well, yes, its multi factorial. Because if you actually look at the data it has been steadily increasing for 3 decades. So whats been happening across that time; UPF, obesity, sedentary lifestyles, more medication, then covid and covid vaccines. ALL of those things. Having an open and inquisitive mind is critical if you want the truth.

A light one, but it freaked me out a bit. I waited a week to start taking HRT again. I have reduced to 1 pump of the cream as I’m a bit afraid 2 may be too much? The progesterone is a capsule 💊 I don’t see how it would work taking it vaginally?

    HRT with large symptomatic fibroids is a puzzle - can it be suitable to take? My understanding is oestrogen can feed fibroids and if we want them to possibly shrink it may not be appropriate? What can a woman take then for menopausal symptoms and protection for bone and heart health? Thank you.

    Why should the word be accepted that these bioidentical hormones are same in size as those made inside the body, with out any given scientific evidence? Without scientific evidence then it all marketing strategies . Natural menopause only gives nature's indicators, not symptoms , this can be achieved by understand how the body is designed to respond at each phases. Hello doc, I am 47 been on continuous hrt since 4 years, estrogen gel 2 pumps and utrogestan 200mg as per my gyn instructions, but recently I've started to have more anxiety so I've switched to another gyn, she prescribed me utro 100mg she said I don't need more & I even can use it as a sequential 14 days on & off but I don't have periods anymore after 1 year of using cont. hrt, I think it doesn't make sense. I need your advice plz!

  • @DrRenee
    @DrRenee2 ай бұрын

    Hi. So I agree with your gynae and thats what I would do, I would take it continuously, You don't need a period and if you were not bleeding through 200mg then its reasonable to have 100mg, and if you take it daily and don't bleed then all good. If you take it for 14 days, 100 mg is not enough, it must be 200mg. You may bleed this way but if you background hormones are now menopausal you may not. The periods are not real on HRT, they are hormonally made so there is no need to have one. So its 100mg daily or 200mg for 12 days a month. Hope that helps.

I also feel that I need more estrogen, but as per my blood test estrogen was 49,4 pg/ml, my doc said it's high I don't need more, I need 1 to 2 pumps max! How can she rely on blood test during perimenopause? I still feel anxious with heart palpitations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼

My periods are very heavy and painful. I had an endometrial ablation but it wasn't very effective. I went in for another but the surgeon couldn't perform it because there was too much scar tissue. What can cause that? Why can you not perform an ablation twice? I also have a larger uterus. What causes a uterus to be larger? Sometimes I feel like I should just wait until menopause. I'm nervous it will put me into menopause earlier than naturally. Should I get a second opinion?
