I helped build the foot bridge over the inlet 13 years ago. I love cruising up there on the hawg with my wife , walking around the water, then lunch in Leadville also! Cheers

My go-to spot when I lived in Denver. It was never crowded, the drive was very nice, the air was always so crisp. Went up to Leadville for lunch. Hiked all around the water.

I suggest raising the camera angle up higher so you are looking straight ahead and can see what is ahead of you "before" you hit it. Sorry to see that, did the drone make it out ok? Did you have the Refresh package?

The descending left hand turn at 12:10 or so is the crux downhill "move" on the ride. The temptation is to take it wide, but it's best if you don't. I don't blame you for editing it out, but it's useful to know for people who haven't ridden this section before. This is the direction I like as well. A nice "strategy" if I may, is to start at the upper lot with some snacks, oranges and such in your car. Ride down Ramblin' to Rocky Tops and Middle Earth to the lot. Have a nice snack at the car and then continue on Big Mesa to Big Lonely to Coney Island and back up Middle Earth again to the car. It's a nice 18.9 mile circuit and the break at the parking lot makes it pretty civilized.

What skis were you skiing here? In particular, I'm curious what waist width they were. I just got Rossi 88hd and am concerned that they won't be wide ebkgtb for powder skiing.

Looks like I was on Rossi E98s (98 underfoot). They were my everyday go-to skis. I also had a pair of Atomic Automatics (117 underfoot) for deeper pow. I am a fairly big guy 6'1" and 190 lbs and like a relatively wide ski.
@glamoc00006 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Are those 98mm skis easy to handle on groomed terrain? What I hear is that the wider the ski , the more difficult to handle on piste
@bobnoonan33766 жыл бұрын
I am now on Nordica Enforcers (100mm). They ski anything including on piste, easily. Probably wouldn't like icy New England conditions.

Did he just kick a salmon. That's disgusting. No respect for the fish. So much for catch and release. Beaching fish damages them extremely badly and almost certainly kills it.

The fresh snow had stopped falling by Thursday, Jan 16, 2014. I arrived on the 20th at EGE Airport and skied 21, 22, and 23 on packed surface and extremely bright sun, no powder. A couple days after I left on the 24th it started snowing again and has been going strong ever since. Next time I will go in Feb. or March. Be sure to go to The George bar when in Vail. I hope to go back next year. Some Vail youtube videos hide the steepness of the area but yours shows the steepness. Good job. It is not for the beginning faint of heart skier, especially when it is all packed.
