I do NOT recommend the Carpe Iter ADV controller. Quality is very poor, it’s NOT water proof. A jet wash will get water inside. If you read the specs you’ll see it does NOT have any IPX rating, and they basically say that you have to trust their word in terms of waterproofness. Likewise, customer service is the worst I’ve ever seen. They will even reply to you with ironic messages trying to make fun of the situation. After so many problems, and terrible and very unprofessional customer service response, I took off the Carpe Iter ADV controller, threw it away, and moved to the ARN Remote Pro. I had zero problems with this controller, and I regret zero. Super good quality, and a top customer service support.

@Adventurebikeridersgib I usually departed each day around 8AM, and getting to destination around 5-6PM. You need to consider that you’ll lose 1-1.5 hours stopping for having a meal, topping up your camel back, and for some other needed things. Day 4 has quite fast trails, with mostly easy terrain. Day 4 is way far the easiest one. It’s 285km, but you’ll ride it at fast speed on wide easy trails mostly. Day 5 is the same, until you reach the Algarve for the last 80km or so, which is a non stop of up and downs, very demanding physically.

Yes @TimZ750, some sections are tricky, specially days 1, 2 and 3, but it’s a fantastic experience. Good luck on your ride. We might cross paths. This summer I’ll do days 3,2 and 1, but this time south to north and then TET in the north of Spain from Ponferrada to Potes.

Try to ride in a Honda 150 from Bilbao to the North of Portugal (300km), cross Portugal off road North to South (1200 km), and return back to Bilbao from Tavira (1000km). On top of that, 30kg luggage 😉

The tiger 900 is a triple cylinder, which isn’t good for slow technical riding. Single or Duel cylinders will stall less in technical riding at slow speeds.

Propaganda and reality are two different things. These bikes are not designed for it; they are meant for long trips with some off-road capabilities. In such situations, a smaller bike would perform much better, such as the MTs 250 or CRE 300.

Thanks for reminding me of what the middle of nowhere looks like. And the great thing is that one doesn't even need to look for a tree. With nobody around, one can take a piss right there in the middle of the road whilst looking at the scenery with the sunshine and warm breeze in one's face without any stress or interruption.

On the other hand, riding on the road requires hardly any brain capacity and all the risk is avoiding people driving like idiots

170cm/80kg. Front preload max, rear preload min, as per a user manual for off road. Front compression damping 13 clicks anti-clockwise from fully clockwise. Same for front rebound damping. Rear rebound damping 1.25 adjuster turns anti-clockwise from fully clockwise. I hope this help @TheInferno.

Great vid, I did a gravel bike event a yer ago on the plain. Saw loads of enduros out and fancy a day out on my KTM. I'm two hours away so want to make a day of it. Would you say there are enough routes to cover a full days riding e.g 4-5hrs? Best, Mark.

Definitely there are enough green lanes to ride for 4/5 hours. The route in this video was 147km long, with around 80% off road. We started around 10:30AM, and we finished 4:30PM. You can ride all day long in that area. Just plan properly the lanes you want to ride.

Lots of interesting little lanes around here. This land is below sea level, so it takes a bit longer to dry out, but getting drier by the day. I never got any mud on me today which makes a change.

Thank you for you comment @albirto1. I don't think there is official data from Triumph in the specs about the wading depth for the Tiger 900. I'd say the bottom of the air box as a rough guide. That is under the seat in the Tiger 900. That is near by Lickfold, Petworth.

Thank for your comment @JRidesRally. Really good question. I don't know about the car 😂. Also, at the time I passed by, the car doesn't have the rear number plate. This might suggest that it tried to drive through when the flooding was deeper, or may be at not enough low speed, and somehow got the number plate stripped off by the water.
