Everyone talking about Tammy’s voice which I’m not a huge fan of, but I really don’t like the way the guy played Seymour here either. I would be disappointed seeing this in nyc.

My favorite part of the ao3 sings meme is when I see a fandom and immediately connect in my head how that title would fit. I'm nodding and saying "that makes sense" all the time with this stuff. "now you're tearing through the pages and the ink" being a Carry On fic, and "you'll never be forgiven (til your boys are too)" being a Batman fic makes so much sense

I'm disappointed with Tammy. I know everybody is going to play Audrey differently. They have a different body, different look, different voice, different acting style and choices. But the character itself is supposed to be vulnerable and delicate as in contrast to the mean Dentist and all the other tough guys she dates. If she's this tough, low-voiced New Yorker woman, as portrayed by Blanchard, there is literally no thrust for the character AT ALL. You feel nothing for her. She's too cold and brash and tough, you don't feel sorry for her. You don't see the sweetness of Somewhere that's green as not only a dream, but a part of her. She doesn't have to mimic Ellen's portrayal, but she doesn't have to do everything possible to be the opposite so that the character doesn't make sense.

If you haven't seen her in the role, disregard this. I've seen her twice and she plays the role totally opposite from tough and cold. Her Audrey is one of the most heartbreaking and fragile I've ever seen. Her take is so fresh and incredibly well acted. And while her voice may not be the strongest, it works so well with how she portrays the character.

Thanks for uploading this! I went to see the show with Gideon as Seymour right before the pandemic started and loved his Seymour so much. I've watched/listened to several different casts since and Gideon is still my favourite. His Seymour for some unknown reason just feels right for me!
