@@musicalmommy The word repent means to change your mind, admitting you are a sinner and agreeing with God that you deserve to go to hell to pay for your sins, and then receive the free gift of eternal life that Jesus paid for so we wouldn’t have to pay for them ourselves. To believe on Jesus doesn’t mean to just believe about him, but to believe on him means to place all your faith and trust in him and what he did to pay for our sins. The Bible never says to repent of our sins, it says to repent and believe the gospel.

It's absolutely true that grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ transforms human nature. Even though the sin is the same, it has no power over us since we are (a true Christian) not under law but under grace. When we believe these promises of Jesus Christ and confess with our mouth as God's word says in Romans 9 - 11, 6:14 and 8:2. It can be any sin whether it is small or big or the biggest, it has no power over a person who is under the grace of God. God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble 1 Peter 5:5. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, He fills us with grace and the power of His Spirit.

I’m am so happy that our Lord has saved you! In your intellectual reading/study of the Word of God, you have not recognised the enemy of our souls. There are so many references to satan/the devil, in fact Jesus tells His disciples/us to pray to Almighty God to “deliver us from the evil one.” Yes our enemies include “the world & the flesh” but you have side stepped our spiritual enemy’s constant work of keeping the world away from the truth of God’s Word and the atoning sacrifice of Messiah. The enemy is not more powerful than Almighty God but still exists & is working in full view. Your (our) battle was not just with yourself. John 8:43-46. The Lord God presents a choice to the world.
