Love Thy Nerd

Love Thy Nerd

Love Thy Nerd exists to be the love of Jesus to nerds and nerd culture.

At LTN we love nerds. In fact, we’re nerds ourselves. We also love Jesus and believe in what he asked us to do: love our neighbors. Whether you are a gamer, a Trekkie, a comic nerd, a Whovian, an otaku, a brony, a roleplayer, a LARPer, or any other flavor of nerd, we think you are valuable and wonderful. Unfortunately, Christians haven’t always done a great job of loving their nerdy neighbors. We want to change that.

LTN wants to speak redemption, hope, truth, and love into the parts of nerd culture that have often been alienated, demonized, dismissed, or simply ignored by Christians. We also want to educate Christians on the value of nerd culture and how we can love our nerdy neighbors better.

    They're actually NOT greedy. If they were, they wouldn't make stupid business decisions that would cause them to lose people and therefore profit in the long run. It's called short-sightedness, not greed.

    I do not understand why this game is not getting more attention from the community! It plays like 5e, it's from a trusted company. It's not WoTC. It's what we need when we need it. People really are just dumb sheep following the herd.

    Yeah I have so far seen like three people doing videos on it. One guy said he tried to get approved by Kobold Press to put out officially approved content. He was told no because he didn't have enough viewers. But isn't a small content creator better than no one talking about it? I am starving for ToV content

  • @whitefoxplays
    @whitefoxplaysАй бұрын

    People still haven't received their physical rewards, so once those arrive I'm sure there will be more hype. Also, it's got to filter into the VTTs online before it gains traction there, so it's barely had visibility yet. I expect more in the next month. 😉

    I think ToV is great and it has lot of potential and is cross compatible with d&d 2014 however currently there is DC 20 hype train and the paid sponsored videos for the 2024 rules set… But I think that with other content creators and there are some new actual plays coming may help boost it..

    Because it's just 5E with some boring tweeks without fixing any of the real issues. It fell so far from what the original was supposed to be. Why bother? They had a very big opportunity and failed. Wait a year and you will be able to download their rules for free. Go big or go home and after WoTC backtracked on their OGL stance, KP decided to pretend to go big but in the end they will just go home with their 'tales' between their legs.

    We DID find the doom points as an optional rule in the Monster Vault, which we didn't use for our session. Unlike other systems, it's a fixed number of points per encounter rather than points that the DM accrues.

    I hope Sucker Punch releases some actual Japanese characters right when Ubisoft releases their DEI ESG game. It’d be a stark contrast. Today’s woke culture and agendas are antithetical to the gospel. No question. If those who are aligned with the gospel as “dumb” count me as the dumbest lol like Peter said wash my whole body Lord! I don’t think it’s a good game to be aligning myself with personally because it would be supporting a dirtbag company. Who promotes equity but emits greed and hatred in actuality to most of the world who thinks Japanese people should be highlighted here. A small minority make it a huge deal but the small voices are on the other side too and have arguably much more power. These are facts so sorry if this doesn’t break through to you. Don’t forget the micro transactions that’ll be here. Probably attract some whales too. Not so ethical if you ask me. If you really understood the core principles of CRT, the 5 tenants, you’d understand that race, specifically the black race, is the one that’s propped up. Just food for thought. I got more but I’ll leave it.

    I've refused to use D&DB from the beginning. It was a useful tool but I hate the idea of not actually owning the products I pay for. Content can easily be edited and the older verson is lost. I specifically purchased Curse of Strad when they announced that they were going to be releasing a newer version. Yes, the old version has some problematic content but that is part of the original setting. It is well within the DMs power to make changes if they deem them needed. All of my books are physical. They cannot be edited when I'm not looking and they represent the history of D&D as well. The good and the bad. I also use the DMs guild for a lot of amazing 3rd party things. There has been some amazing things I've picked up on the market place that made for some amazing sessions. Wizards has burned all of their good will and have done nothing to gain it back. Hasbro only cares about the bottom line and just like in the video game sphere, income over product prevails. I truly think we are in the beginning of an independent movement. From D&D to video games, more and more small companies are popping up and they are refusing to sell to the mega corps. They are creating great things because that us their goal. Not to make the shareholders happy with the returns but to make something enjoyable for their players. As for Critical Role, yes, they have now become a company. However, they are not hurting for money even if it's only 75% of their income. It is smart on their end to cut out the middle man. Since they are keeping all their twitch content available it doesn't effect the normal viewer and those with money to burn can enjoy the new content. I personally stopped watching CR halfway through Season 2. I didn't like the characters as much and the story was all over the place. Plus I didn't have thr free time to devote to 3+ hours of watching each week. However, I wonder if this move on their end is a sign that the audience has reached its plateau.

    Because Black widow took the place of grimora dying for the soul stone. If they brought her back the timeline would change and thanos would win. Someone had to sacrifice themselves for the soul stone and since grimora was pulled from the timeline she never made that sacrifice in the first place.

    Oh I know they can bring her back in a comic book fashion but to stay in the timeline they are in, they can’t bring her back or it would clip that timeline. The way I see them doing it is finding a better way to defeat thanos in the future and go back in time to defeat him without needing the infinity stones.
