Joe And Mike’s Virtual Tours Of Scotland
Joe And Mike’s Virtual Tours Of Scotland
Mike and Joe are Scottish Blue Badge Tourist Guides based in Edinburgh. During the pandemic and with the easing of lockdown they have been leading live virtual walking tours of Edinburgh Old Town. These are very popular especially during this time when travel restrictions are in place. Both guides are also ‘good to go’ regarding safe on-site guiding. Enjoy the tours and it would be great if you would subscribe to our channel.

Absolutely loved this and would highly recommend it. I live only 30 minutes away from Edinburgh and I still learned a lot 😃
Absolutely loved this video!!!! Amazing explanation 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I thought Kirk meant church , not Scotland ?
You went a ways around the George Bryce historical notice. Didn't you think that story worth sharing?
I have read that Lawnmarket is called like this because of Land market which took place here - people sell products from the land - milk, butter, etc. as well as cloth, linen and yarn. Never heard of drying stuff here. From where water was taken in those times? Which version is correct?
The Hub is NOT the highest building in Edinburgh! Maybe in the Old Town, but not in entire city. The highest is St Mary's Episcopal Church!
Thank you ❤
casually dropping a what's in my sporran. slay
During the 17c my ggggparents lived in Edinburgh. I had their address and wanted to see what it looked like. Sadly it had been knocked down during the building of Edinburgh University, more than likely as an add on to the University, which is very old anyway. The area was called Mahogany Land. I was very happy that it was the Student Union building. With all the other addresses I had the buildings were still remaining. I was born in a little village just outside Edinburgh. Funny he should mention ER11, if you look at the verses of 'God save the Queen' the 7th verse is all about 'slaughtering all Scot's'. No wonder the Scottish don't like her. Hypocritical of her to spend her holidays there.
can we plz get mor Glasgow? uwu
Me and my mate are taking a trip up from Leeds to have a pissup. Last time Scots Police were GREAT!!! They even provided a towel to clear up the puke, What more can a Yorkshireman ask for..Went to see that Brass dog in Black Fryers. Took us ages to find it. We were looking for Ainsley Harriot. In the end we were told not to touch its nose so I wiped its Arse with a tissue.
Wonderful series. It will help a lot for my visit. Sorry but, it could be better without all the call outs.
Was wondering if you would point out the burial site of John Knox in the car park but it looks like the surrounding architecture took priority which is understandable.
Scots, how did you come to such a life that you have a minister of health, a certain Hamza Yusuf? You forgot about Culloden.
What tartan is that you've got on?
Thanks for the question. Joe is wearing the Gunn tartan.
Even though I live in Edinburgh I love the tours ❤️

This is all very nice and interesting. I just wonder, why you have not mentioned about Gen. Maczek bench which is located in City Chambers courtyard? And why you didn't tell anything about his amazing story and his connections with Edinburgh? As well as many other polish soldiers who stayed here in Edinburgh and Scotland after WWII?
Thanks Gentlemen, great watch alongside a good Historical perspective. Regards & best wishes from East Dunbartonshire.

You are soooo cute!!
When he said "Cock fighting" I was like "What....?!" And the most ankward mental pictures came go my mind... Then I realised what he actually meant and I was like "Oh...."😆😆😅
Having zoomed in, it looks like it is a piglet the hawk is carrying, not a mouse.

Sometimes it is just difficult to find the right way to comment, even if i am a person who finds it most delightful when there are ways to be found to present past times with present times, making a uniqe coming up.
And your pleasant way of descrybing to the present time.
What a interesting historytour!
no you do not have to wear a face nappie , unless you a sheep
Soon as he showed what was in his sporran I stopped watching.
I miss Edinburgh every day in my life. Trying to get back to you if I get a job in Edinburgh.
Love this. I’m obsessed with Edinburgh. Hope to be there before I leave this world. I have 2 brain aneurysms. I’ve told my husband to get me there after I’m gone if I can’t get there before. ♥️
I would go to English language school located on The Royal Mile. I wanted to go further study for Edinburgh university and get involved in the tourism industry like you doing now. Unfortunately it didn't come true with my health condition. Now I"m qualified to be a tour guide for foreign tourists in Japan. I'm learning how to guide from you. Your technique is authentic. I'm so glad to know about the origin of the loo😂
Absolutely brilliant. Loved this a lot. Just one critique, please try and hold the camera more steady when possible. Quite hard to watch at times. Cheers!
Thank you for the comment and advice. We are improving as we go. Glad you enjoyed it.
