As much as I like some of this stuff, the inclusion are hands and arms on the gun you see would always be nice and not floating I get it and all but brain wise for me I'd rather that because you can't see through arms.

This must be totally awesome. I don't have vr but I do use a tobii eye tracker and I play arma 3 religiously because it's got excellent Tobii support. People will often say head and eye tracking is not well suited for first person shooters but this could not be further from the truth. You just have to get it set up properly for you and you have to take the time to practice. Unfortunately I don't enjoy any shooters at this point that don't have some sort of head or eye tracking support. this experience has got to be totally next level ha ha

My love and respects, sir. When I switch to F16 or a different plane, I cannot get any interaction from the keyboard. The same applies to the mouse. There is no problem when selecting the plane in the main menu. I enter the game and cannot get any interaction. Can someone help me, I am playing with the keyboard, please.

I started playing dcs couple of years ago when I found my old saitek x45 + ch pedals (like logitech x45 But version 1.0 with saitek name XD). And ofc thumbview. :) I played SP about two years with that almost 20 year old hotas. Learned even to fly ka-50 with that (pretty much only helo that was able to handle that crazy deadzone that old ruin hotas needed :D). Now played about 4 years and still going only with t.16000m. I have wondered how well I would fly, if I would not have to thumble with my controllers / views all the time during flight, on top of everything else - with 10 year old gaming computer. I would say: Gear does not make you great pilot, but bad gear can keep you being bad pilot...

I thought I just sucked but watching THIS dude playing and having a hard time with the same things made me feel a lot better. Bro, this game is no joke. Fr. One of the most try hard sims I've ever played. It only takes ONE slip. A very small one that could be it. Literally game over. Dozens of hours thrown away in a blink of an eye. And this alone makes this game SO amazing. It's one of those games that can get SO stressful you start wondering why we keep torturing ourselves with it. But it's cool haha. 100% one of the best games I ever played. Can't wait till I get really familiarized with the controls and commands and start flowing more naturally. The little improvement I had in it made the game way more satisfying. Thank you Void Interactive for this master piece. For real.

For those complaining about $200/yr, I guess you need to value your time more. Imagine the logistics and time required to go everyday to an outdoor range? It's not a replacement to the real thing, but that is why it's called a VR. Muscle memory can't be train in a day or two, and unless you have a backyard as a range, lucky for you to go 20 times a year (lets not even talk about gas, and setting up targets). This solves those issues, and by itself is totally worth it, but I also still have my range membership.

I went from desktop VR flyer to Boeing Flightsim Chair made by Next Level Racing, and definitely made me a better flyer, no doubt. Just getting pedals in the right place and center stick did a lot.

What annoys me today is that games are no longer fun anymore. If i play a game i espect to be able to escape from reality but with todays standards being "if it's not realistic it's shit" Games are just no longer fun and are just eye candy. I tend to play older games because of this. Something thag i find funny aswell is that some people think that everything with a bodycam is super realistic for me it's just obnoxius and it gives me the ick seeing that camera wobbling around like my player character as no neck. Great vid! Loved every second of it

id like to have heard some criticism of the game and what it demands of the player. To most outside observers of vr, they perceive it as just lightgun arcade games but in 3d. The reason why it hasnt hit the mainstream isn't entirely because of accessibility, it's mostly because of the games, and more specifically what the games lack. if you just search up ares vr (ignore the fact that it's a roblox game) it shocked everyone, even people who have never talked about vr were talking about it, and thats because it looked like it would demand the player to actually engage with the inherent mechanics of vr. Things like the game throwing items for the player, the hud, point and click menus, reloads that only require that you move your hand to 3 general areas, grabbing at a 2d overlay instead of looting off the player's corpse all need to be addressed, and properly critiqued, otherwise vr will never hit the mainstream and it will keep the outside view of just being some gimmick. If you enjoy it, that's fine. Im not here to call you low standards, but bad design decisions are bad design decisions.

VTOL VR is so good, it works on the Oculus Quest 1. I since invested in a MQ3 in order to stream it smoothly to the tube. Also, its just such a well done game, now with RCS definition, its so much easier to get into than a much more involved game like DCS World.

Two completely different games, but in terms of replayability showdown is miles better, better gun play, movement, valting, sliding,task,missions, cosmetics, a few game modes massive homebase its very polished,ghost of tabor is stuck on one set slow as all hell movement, no vaulting, not realistic at all, real people have complex movement, weak optimization, still buggy even after the new update, purposely slow updates to keep a the community around. Yes it's hardcore but so far from being polished and realistic, it's fair maybe in a few years ghost of tabor will be good like showdown. To each their own at the end of the day!

Had a bit of fun during the beta, but I don't like that the game has aim assist and I also really dislike the huge amount of flat 2D white text UI. Both things just shouldn't exist in VR. UI needs to be in world. I don't want a shit ton of menus floating in my face, it's extremely annoying. I play VR to be immersed, and floating text has the exact opposite effect.

@@shearer.17 I may just not have enough hours in, then. I've never had server issues or encountered cheaters (that I know of). I don't find it very janky at all compared to most VR shooters, tbh. Contractors (the OG) is phenomenal, tho. Love the modding scene in that game. Unfortunately, I don't know that legacy small-lobby call of duty esque shooters are the way of the future. I think we'll see more EFT, Warzone/PUB-G, and DAY-Z stuff.
