Le chic shack à Stephie

Salut! Et bienvenue! On est ben icitte. Ouin. Ouin. Ouin.

For those who don’t know, they don’t say it here I’m surprised, but this movie is based on George Orwell’s book Homage to Catalonia. If you liked this movie I highly recommend reading the book. I also agree with Siskel. The love story was hackneyed. Really crap. That’s probably why it is though because on Orwells book there is no love story like that.

Its a good movie but it went up against Rob Roy and Braveheart which just stomped it to death, mostly because they feel a lot more grown up.

Highly underrated movie that truly exposes the power of "quiet". I was deeply moved by everything this film had to offer and Mr. Vince how the hell did you at least not get a nomination for this superbly performed role done more through your eyes and body language than words!!?

A car blows up and the stone fountain is on fire? Janet Leigh is apprached by a young Mexican hood and follows him to dark places unknown because he ask her to? A stupid decision even in 1958. And this is in the first 15 minutes! There are some great movies from the 1950s but this ain't one of them.

I’m fortunate to have been able to meet Roger Ebert shortly before his passing. He couldn’t speak, but he was very friendly. As an animation lover myself, I always loved how open Ebert was to animation and especially anime. He gave them all a fair chance instead of brushing it all off as children fodder. So nice to see the joy on both of their faces while discussing this film.

I agreed with Gene on The Cable Guy. It’s under appreciated. Roger does have a point though because audiences weren’t expecting that film from Carrey. It was ahead of its time. Eddie Murphy’s career had been in trouble for a few years but Nutty Professor was a big comeback for him that worked because while some humor was mean spirited we loved his character and we loved his family and we wanted to see him be happy which he was. So I agree Nutty Professor was a better movie for bringing back Murphy in a good quality comedy but Cable Guy has its merits. Were it released today to Netflix it would have been huge.

I read somewhere that Krippendorf's Tribe is sorta based on a real life incident where an alleged anthropologist "discovered" a stone age tribe in the Philippines called the Tasaday. Later, it was revealed to be a total hoax - the "tribe" were comprised of actors fully coached and performed with the full knowledge and probable cooperation of Ferdinand Marcos. The film itself is not very good, and I am surprised that Richard Dreyfus and Jenna Elfman found anything of value in the script.

I have a review of something I have just seen it's called Two Movie Critics Get Everything Wrong Yet Again it would have been a great film but they keep trashing perfectly great films so im sorry it's a thumbs down from me! R.I.P to these two but it can't be denied how far off the mark they were and slagged great films off
