    The molds are good but I keep breaking them and they are £50 a pop

    @@meltingipswich That's so frustrating. I broke one of my molds the first time I used it. The graphite is more brittle than you think.

    Well brother that didn't turn out the way I thought it would. Still pink on cooling. What about shot. very hard to get uniform balls in water. Maybe this will work better. Awesome episode brother copper melt today for me stay safe brother

    Thank you. I’ve actually never done copper shots maybe I will try that. They didn’t come out like I thought either I was expecting a bit more shiny red on the cooling. Hope your melt went well 👍

    Steam explosion. Imagine having a red hot saucepan with nothing in it and then dropping a tiny bit of water in it you get an instant steam reaction now multiply that by 10 - 15 but the moisture is inside the metal. You then touch it onto 1100°c molten metal that’s going to go bang 💥 Thank you for the question and I hope that answers it for you and thank you for watching 👍

    No not these ones next week I’m going to do a copper ingots and quench it in wax. See how that comes out

    I did comment but it's gone I think it maybe a 3 pin electrolytic capacitor I didn't get a good look. Awesome brother I love the long videos

    Bear in mind extrusion grade aluminium will be a lot less suitable for casting with, you may find any casting you make with this is weaker than expected

    Thank you I’ll bear that in mind I’m not an expert at this I’m still learning and I’m still trying to find the best stuff to cast with. I know zinc is good but it’s finding it as I like to do everything white found, recovered and recycled material. Thank you for watching and commenting 👍

    Thanks for sharing. I’ve been polishing a buck 110 and I’ve been trying to get it to perfection because other videos I’ve watched have always shown their work from a distance. You showed it up close and my work looks just like yours up close thanks for doing this I’ve been racking my brain for 3 days. Thumbs up for sure.

    No I don’t I really need to sort out a jig so it easier to stamp them because at the moment I can’t do them neatly

    Since you cannot close the lid you should invest in a few iron slats to cover what you can so to minimize the heat loss.

    It's fortunate you just do this as a hobby. I don't think anyone could make a living doing it - unless they had the capacity to do it on an industrial basis.

    I think you may have stumbled across a way of making copper bright and shiny. As the reason for the orange is oxygen coating in wax whilst cooling could work they use oil baths on hot steel. Awesome episode

    Oh wow be careful as you can get in trouble for melting current coins that are still in circulation but you can melt them for educational purposes
