Took fuse 8 out and when I plug it back in the navigation system stopped working. Changed out my alarm siren. Anyone know what fuse is for the entertainment system?

The drains on my MB E320 were severely clogged. From the drainage downspout, located behind the front fender liner, next to the alarm siren, drain water was trickling down the siren bracket and into the siren. Shorted it out. I even noticed rust on the bracket where the drain water was getting into the siren. The result? The computer thought the alarm was permanently engaged, and a continuous steady draw from the battery ensued, even when everything was completely turned off on the car. One of the nasty culprits of the amp draw.

I would not call it a fuse thing. I have been working on cars for 18 years and not just anyone can do this. If you feel that you dont mind spending hours learning about electronics of a car. If its somwthing you want to get into. Buy the car with enough patience you can fix it.

Battery drain fixed 2003 w211 Had Faulty starter motor, disconnected permanent live wire. Left car over night and it stopped draining battery changed starter motor everything was good. Also I heard some people had issue with alternator too

Great workaround. On the way to NAPA to get the loop. QUESTION: Is there an issue looping into a 40A inlet from a source designed to handle less amperage? Example, drawing power from a cigarette lighter (#13/15A) to power the AGW fused at 40A?

I had the same issue on my w211. I just pulled the fuse. I didnt need to adjust the seat ever. If i need to ill put the fuse back in.

I've had various causes for drains on MBs. On an R500, I had a failed cluster module - it still worked, it just kept all the audio modules awake. The diag consisted of connecting DAS to the CAN buses and watching to see 'who' (in this case, the KOMBI/CLUSTER) was keeping the bus wake. On my 05 E500 - water leaking into trunk corroded a connector on the right side of the car, where I think the satellite radio module would connect just below the right side hinge, behind the interior covers. When this connector corroded, it bridged 12v to my pink wire CAN - this fired the COMAND head-unit. Eventually the corrosion bridge to ground and popped a 5a fuse in the trunk PRE-fuse where the spare is. SO, in some cases, you can pull a fuse and stop the draw but that may not indicate WHY a module is drawing. In the cases above, one module was bad but disconnecting the AGW saved the battery - but was not the problem. In another case, voltage leaked to the BUS, which then killed COMAND.

since I changed the power supply of the radio/media station, with fuse 8 and disconnected the electrical controls of the front saws, I no longer have any problems with battery discharge for a week... to know all the same that these models have servers on all floors and still consume electrical energy even when idle... the ideal is to have a mini charger / maintenance that you can put on from time to time if you are not using not every day of his car... my 06 merc done this 2 times in 2 months so not too often. but when it does it is pain in the ass. i noticed the central lock was working with low battery but it could not open trunk and key did not fit. luckily i found the box in front passenger feet well to connect battery. thanks for the video.

front fuse box has a big red wire also you can jump from. Kind of pain in the ass depending on the kind of clamp you have for you wires or jump pack.

My Mercedes cls 500 is doing the same thing as well as the radio turns on and off when it wants to. My question is If I just get an aftermarket radio and get rid of the old one will that's stop me from having to use fuse #6 and stop the battery draining.

Audio gateway is a network of things. You would need to disable it but by doing so you will have a ton of messages as you drive. Take out the fuse and look at the message ceneter as you drive. A simple radio replacement will not fix tbe issue unless the radio its self is the culprit.

My friend hello from Turkey I have I model same problem.I disconnected all circuits front and back side sam unit as well front ceiling light unit but still 30 mm amp current observed.my master sad that only two possibilitys.1- front dashboard 2-ignition switch.We disconnected dasboard but still 30 mm amp current observed.We changed ignition unit first than shut down signals electronicly sends to rear sam module but we had still some drain.And we found amplifier that serious drain.we connected that line to ignition than 45 sn car was going to sleep mode and current was degreas to 0,10 amp somethink like that.I hope its works your car.Fisrt problem that the car doesnt change to sleeep mode because igniter unit doesnt sand signal to sam unit.Thats the only one way to switch sleep mode trought from igniter unit.Than you can find from sam wich system drain the battery.

Recently I had relays mysteriously fall apart from old age. If the car cranks the fuel pump relay might be the culprit. It is the furthest down relay in the trunk fuse box. Left side of the trunk. Had 2 brake out of nowhere on this car actually this week.

@@borntosilence3027 Check if the starter relay gets a signal. On w211 it is in the under hood fuse box. If relay gets a go ahead from ecm and relay is good your starter should crank unless it has bad ground or it is burnt. Once I got a car. All that was wrong was the starter relay. Little 4 dollar part. Car was parked for 2 years. I had the car started before tow truck guy dropped the car down when it arrived.

So the rer left bag gave out. It had a untraceable small leak when the car was driven only. Only once the leak opened up completelly and bag failed issue was resolved.

I swapped the motor. The motor had clanking noises coming from the Balancer shaft sprocket area. These are not meant to fail but I guess they do.

I also have this problem of the battery discharging while the car is at rest, so I looked everywhere, blamed the driver's seat electric computer, it wasn't that...then I saw your video on the bridging to be made between 6 and 7 in the trunk...the only problem is the diameter of the wire in terminal 7 which will therefore control the power supply of fuse 6 is it thick enough, because we are talking about 15A on terminal 7 while we are talking about 40 A on the power supply on terminal 6. have you had any feedback on this, could there be problems with overheating of the wire supplying terminal 7? What do you think ? in any case if this is indeed the fault, that would be great, I did the bypass, recharged my battery to full capacity (12.76 v) and will find out tomorrow morning>. Many thanks for your video...!! Vincent in France E 200 (w211) from 2005 140,000 km...like new (apart from this problem...!)

Before you do bypass BUY a clamp meter that does DC current AMPERAGE. guessing game is not good. As far as wire thickness the fuse will burn out before this wire gets hot or even warm. Its from experience. Don't use a very thin wire though.

Ah you mean on the back of the fuse the wire is not as thick ss the original draw point of the fuse. Well 2 of the csrs I did. This to one 355 one e500 znd both are good no wire on the back of the box got cooked in any way.
