    Thank you so much for this video. I recently bought my first kayak and I couldn't figure out the rudder. The instructions said nothing about the line with the float.

    Early mornings and late afternoon, evenings and night are good times. An overcast day with some wind or at least some ripples is generally more productive. If it is warm and sunny, fish a bit deeper. Are you using bait, lure or fly?

    Cool footage, has nice tail action while swimming, 1/16 oz will give little more natural action for slow/hop retrieves with tail sitting more upright at rest... My favourite all rounder is the Zman 3.75" Streakz Jerkshad, it can be fished finesse as light as 1/16oz up to 1/4oz, #1 - #1/0 (Baitjunkie) equivalent #1/0 - #2/0 in other brands... Really enjoy your channel, cheers...

    Looks a good option for shallow weedy lakes

  • @OutdoorsGap
    @OutdoorsGapАй бұрын

    Yeah it is a good lure for it, as it dives a meter or less. We are having some nice catches on the Golden Retriever color, tiger trout and char colors. They cast pretty good for their light weight.

    How do you work your lure amongst those weeds?

  • @OutdoorsGap
    @OutdoorsGapАй бұрын

    Fish the sections with minimal / no weed. Or use some more floating type lures and fish above the weed beds. Like bent minnows or floating minnows like the Daiwa Presso or Rapala minnows. For inline spinners and Tassie Devils, lift the rod tip up higher. You can also use some lighter jig heads on the soft plastics, so it doesn't sink too deep into the weeds.

    Are Brown Trout and Redfin a common catch on surface lures?

  • @OutdoorsGap
    @OutdoorsGapАй бұрын

    More so the trout, but because the lake is reasonably shallow the redfin will have a go as well.

    @@OutdoorsGap Will any colour do?

  • @OutdoorsGap
    @OutdoorsGapАй бұрын

    Wendouree is pretty clear, so natural colors can work well. But I like the gold color/flash as well.

    @OutdoorsGap One last question: Is there a better part of the lake for land based, or is it all a bit of a lucky dip?

  • @OutdoorsGap
    @OutdoorsGapАй бұрын

    @@Jacko911 The south side pontoons near the Olympic rings are good for a south wind, or south west wind. St Pats point another good spot. For a north wind, Durham point is another spot. Good luck. Cheers.
