    I hope you didn’t get this toaster. Yes it looks fancy but overall it’s not worth it. Had it for about a year with limited use and eventually the screen went dark and wouldn’t turn on. With many attempts to unplug and plug back in the screen finally works now but not the touch screen. The toaster is now useless.

    $449.99 on Amazon Canada for this toaster. Do you really think it's worth that much just because it's a touch screen ? Lol

  • @RichardGarrison
    @RichardGarrison2 жыл бұрын

    It's supposed to be a high tech novelty which potentially could justify the price, but it just doesn't work very well. Check out the June oven. It's a toaster oven with a touch screen that does way more than this toaster and it has really useful smart functions. It automatically recognizes food when you put it inside and it sets the temperature and timer. Plus it makes toast without burning half of it. 😊

    Zero info about the sound quality? Sound signature? Trimble? Timing? Soundstage? Dynamics? That should be the main part of an audio device review. And if you have problem with the lag of start/pause a song, you could have shown it in your video for us to get an idea if it really is a problem, or you are just nitpicking.

  • @RichardGarrison
    @RichardGarrison2 жыл бұрын

    Hello! It isn't the start/ pause of the song that's an issue. The device is a media player, not just an audio player. That means you can open up lots of different types of audio files using different android apps (e.g., podcasts or audiobooks). Launching those apps is where the player lags. A $50 cell phone doesn't have these problems. Sony used a low end processor and minimal ram. The audio quality is completely subjective and that's why I didn't mention it very much. The companies that sell high end audio equipment know that science doesn't back up their claims. It would be incredibly easy to perform blind testing on multiple devices to objectively find the best quality of any media player, headphone or speaker,, but you'll notice no company is willing to do it and publish the results. Another issue is the vast majority of adults have hearing loss. The best people to test audio devices are 12 years old before hearing loss begins. The final reason is I primarily used Sony WH-1000mx3 and WH-1000mx4 Bluetooth headphones. When using Bluetooth, virtually all media players and cell phones sound identical. I did use wired headphones as well, but not for long because the Sony WH series headphones produce great sound without wires. Thanks for the feedback!

    Nice review. FYI, this is not the first player by Sony to have Android. I owned the NW-ZX2 which came out around 2015 and was their flagship (1200.00 USD), the forerunner of the WM1A, which is the same price without Android. The operating system was never updated. It had Marshmallow 4.2 from the day I got until the day it died a few months ago from main circuit board failure. Toward the end, the streaming was not working properly due to outdated OS. It too, was slow, but I loved the sound of it, warm and richly detailed. I wound up getting a Sony NW-A55 just to have something relatively inexpensive and waterproof until I was ready to decide whether to get another Sony or go with Astell&Kern. I heartily recommend the A55 to anyone who does not need Android as it runs on Sony's proprietary OS, but has great battery life and really nice sound for the price. My final decision was to go with the Sony NW-ZX507 which is their current streaming flagship. This one sounds as good as the ZX2, and since I'm really not worried about streaming at this point, it serves for what I need it to do. Another thing is that it has a balanced headphone output and is miles faster than the ZX2 or the A105.

    I'm not an audiophile, and finally found a review about this gadget that I need. I mean all other tell all that SAME cool audio features and missing what I need most, even if it's on a surface. I want to separate my use of phone and "listening". It suits for me to listen, music, and especially podcast apps and audiobook on a separate gadget. I guess Sony probably missing this, in their marketing strategy. Modern smartphones overloaded with all kinds of technologies. Many of people who addicted to podcast shows and audiobooks could buy Walkman instead killing a precious time of phones battery

    How do you clean the ruber part of your washer and dryer

  • @RichardGarrison
    @RichardGarrison3 жыл бұрын

    You're supposed to use a product called affresh washing machine cleaner periodically to clean the inside to prevent odors. If you want to save some money, you can purchase a spray bottle and mix tap water with a couple teaspoons of bleach inside it. Then spray the interior with that mix until the whole surface is damp and let it air dry. This will eliminate odors from mold/mildew. A bottle should last a very long time, but I recommend replacing the mix at least once a month. I usually wipe down the rubber parts with dry or damp bath towels/dish rags. If it's really dirty, I would recommend putting some water diluted laundry detergent on the damp cloth. I wouldn't recommend dish soap as the suds will be difficult to remove. I also wouldn't recommend vinegar or glass cleaner or any other cleaners as they will likely wear down the rubber parts. Glass cleaner is fine on the door iterior and exterior though.

    Thank you for the review! I am looking forward to buying the washer/dryer set. How much did the pedestals set you back? I have pedestals for my Whirlpool washer/dryer set that I bought more than 4 years ago and they were around $299 each. from Best Buy.

  • @RichardGarrison

    To be honest, the quality of the washer and dryer isn't that great. GE's appliances have much better build quality. That being said, the interface is better but, it sometimes trips people up with the built in touch pauses. I think that may be a safety feature to keep kids from playing with them? $300 is pretty typical for pedestal prices. They often go on sale though. And be sure to buy online and use Rak ten (Ebates) or RetailMeNot to get cash back. If you use my referral code, you get a bonus $30. www.rakuten.com/r/GARRIS163?eeid=44753

    Looks like a great product. In fact, I ordered the third generation June Oven in February 2021; however, June Oven has not sent my oven. I have contacted office in San Francisco twice and they explained delays due to covid. I was empathetic until today, three months after my order was placed, when they sent out a mass email promoting June Oven for mothers day with a 10% discount. How can you promote an oven when you haven't even filled previous orders. I would NOT order this oven without some type of reassurance of date of arrival. I will be fair, and if my oven arrives, I will post the good news here right away. Richard, I hope you don't delete my comment. I think consumers have a right to know if your video encourages them to purchase a June Oven. Thank you.

  • @RichardGarrison
    @RichardGarrison3 жыл бұрын

    I am a bit sympathetic towards June as they probably had their advertising schedule set up as far back as three to six months ago and the manufacturing shortage is hitting almost every company that uses computer chips, including PC makers like Dell and Apple, video game companies like Sony and Microsoft and even automobile manufacturers. They should provide a notice when people order about the current backlog and also communicate regularly with revised shipment estimate updates, however. I recommend you reach out to them on twitter and ask them to send all back orders an update. They have been responsive to my questions in the past. Also, something a bit frustrating to me recently is I discovered that they changed their business model with the third generation. Some of the features like live camera updates that were free before now require a subscription. Don't let that discourage you though because after you use it once or twice you probably won't find it that useful anyway except to wow friends. It's just annoying that every company thinks they deserve perpetual monthly payments.

    Yeah, this toaster is horrible. It's completely uneven and it flash cooks the very outside leaving the inside untouched. For a muffin that's a major no as they are very doughy unless toasted all the way through. Fast isn't always good. For $300 the flashiness of the screen is a waste. And they STILL only have a 2 slot? This company is doing nothing but a cash grab. Thanks for the vids! They helped a lot. Appreciate it!
