I've got a similar generation Polo, 12v 64hp engine, completely stock performance wise. Just put some Polo sport seats in and there's at least a 25% cornering speed improvement just from being more planted in the seat. Great car to hustle, very forgiving, and surprisingly stable at higher speeds

I have the exact same car Fabia II 1.2 60hp in the same red as well! What's the "best bang for the buck" mod you'd recommend? And how much was the exhaust on eBay?

For mods, theres nothing you can really do powerwise except for swapping the engine (which is not worth it for this car). Id say the best thing you can do is buy some good Wheels / Tires and Height Adjustable Coilover suspension. Dont cheap out on any of these. The exhaust was around 100€. Its for the Skoda Fabia Mk1 though so we had to make some adjustments.

I've spent all my money on the car and insurance so there isn't much left 😂🤦♂ an exhaust would be cool though! What sort of adjustments did you need to do? I assume different brackets?

@@sambuckeridge7020 Adjustments for the Exhaust included different brackets and also cutting the bumper. For tires i can recommend some Hankook, Continental, Goodyear or Michelin summer tires. Suspensionwise i dont know whats available in the UK. At this point in time, im running AP Coilovers in my Fabia.

Die Worte kommen vom Meister selbst, es freut mich wirklich sowas zu lesen. Ich konnte diese Saison einiges an Fahrerfahrung auf verschiedenen Autos sammeln, das war wirklich toll. Ja, im Display gelb am blinken ist die ASR. Ich war vor der Runde kurz am überlegen, ob ich die ausschalte, da man bei solchen alten Autos das Gas besser modulieren kann als die 25 Jahre alte Traktionskontrolle. Würde auch sagen man ist so schneller. Habe sie aber angelassen weil ich noch nicht so gut bin, und zudem war es an dem Tag abseits der Ideallinie nass und sehr kalt. Vielleicht sieht man sich nächste Saison ja mal.

@@oskarr3018 Naja, ob ich wirklich der Meister selbst bin wage ich mal zu bezweifeln... 🤭 Ich denke mal bei einem Fronttriebler hilft dir die Traktionsknotrolle nicht besonders, da es ja mit dieser Antriebsart meistens im Kurveneingang und auf der Bremse brenzlig werden kann. Wenn das der Fall ist, einfach immer Vollgas geben, dann kann nichts passieren. 😅 Ja, das wäre doch mal was. Ich nehme dich ne Runde bei mir mit und du mich bei dir. 👍

I’ll be driving in two months and have a bog standard Fabia mk2 htp. What are your thoughts on their handling characteristics and are they fun to drive?

They are very neutral and forgiving, it also very much depends on your driving style. Some might say they are boring but its a good platform to start on. Once you get comfortable you can transfer the driving experience onto other fwd cars. If you put some good wheels/tires and suspension on, they can become very fun to drive.

How U do heel and toe on this car? I own similar Fabia and i must be deep into brakes to even touch a gas pedal

I find the pedal placement perfect for heel and toe. It took me a long time to get right and a lot of practice. What i do is depress the brake with the ball of the foot, then blip the gas with the other side of the foot.

@@STN-jq5jf No my pedals dont have a deadzone. To get rid of that, i recommend you bleed your brakes, check your brake lines and your brake pads. Also getting good brake fluid can help, i use Motul/Brembo.

Der Wagen hat für die Leistungsklasse wahnsinnige Standhaftigkeit. Es gibt leider zu wenig Menschen die sich wagen solche Fahrzeuge über den Ring zu prügeln. Die Runde hatte aber auch einige Fehler, da ist noch was rauszuholen

Hallo bin letztens einen fox htp 54ps probe gefahren den hab ich auch so richtig getreten. Hatte vorher ne Oma gefahren. Ich war sehr überrascht das er das so überstanden hat ich hab den so richtig hart rangenommen. Nur getreten sollte den für ne bekannte testen.

@@aa16v76 Ja so einen habe ich auch letzte Saison auf der Nordschleife getroffen. Die Autos machen unter der Vorraussetzung dass man sie einfach vernünftig pflegt sehr viel mit und können viel Spaß bereiten. Ich werde dieses Jahr auch wieder sehr viel Zeit auf der Strecke verbringen, mit neuen Veränderungen am Fahrzeug. Außerdem lernt man hier sehr schnell sein Auto kennen.
