Read it twice and attended the local Islamic Center for almost 3 years. Thought I felt peace until I attended a Baptist Church. That night I felt the Holy Spirit pulling on my heart. I was sweating, shaking, and crying and God lead me to the altar. I gave my heart to Jesus and Ive had true peace ever since. I hope you'll read the Bible and attend a Gospel-centered church one day.

Obviously you are not familiar with the source material for this and many other stories. The Word of God has many examples of Grace shown by HIM and us failing time and time again. Consumed by our selfish nature trying to prove to the Lord who we are, instead of realizing without God we are nothing. When you realize you are not perfect, never will be, and broken without Him then and only then will his gift of eternal life through a decision of Salvation and total surrender of self will you truly understand the lessons of scripture. Praying for you and hoping your journey will one day include Christ.

God had the power and knowledge to do anything, but he chose to make a flawed creation and punish rather than teach, condem rather than lift up. I see this as his character, flawed, cruel, and ignorant. Just like us, because we made him, just like every God you don't believe in.

One of the hardest things for people to deal w in the Bible is the inconsistency of God’s grace and mercy. But if you are able to glimpse at it from Gods perspective you will realize that it’s ALL grace and mercy. Everything, every breath you take. And I had a boss that once said about being promoted, if you are happy where you are, fine, be happy and enjoy it. But if you want more, I will give you more problems to deal with. You won’t get easy. I think about this with God, and w Moses in this instance. Moses was God’s voice to the people of Israel and God’s mercy and grace were unbelievable when it came to Moses, but so was his responsibility to God.

Jesus IS the rock, over and over again. He was stricken, and the veil was torn so that we could come into the holy of holiest. It was a type and shadow of Jesus Christ after the crucifiction. He paid ONCE for all. When he struck it a second time, it was like crucifying Christ twice.

The Christian church is apostate and against the 10 commandments. They teach the opposite of what the Messiah did, preaching faith alone, OSAS, pretrib rapture nonsense, and they're promoting pagan idolatry like Christmas and Easter. Although Baptism is a public acknowledgment of surrendering your life to follow Christ, it is not a requirement. Although the KJV version of scripture has long been held as the standard for interpretation of the Word for study, it is not the only presentation of God's Word. I agree with you about the commercialization of Religion. Big Buildings and Big Budgets accommodate and facilitate an "experience" with God. A relationship with God, although a free gift from Him for acceptance, is much more of a sacrifice. Sadly, many people find the responsibility of accepting too much to undertake. Nathan thank you for sharing your worldly outlook. Darkness is extinguished only when it is exposed to LIGHT.
