    Unfortunately, the 6"×6" compartments are irresistible and easy pickings for any aerial predator. Your new halo looks like it will do the trick.

    It does do the trick. We have also had issues with predators on the gourd house systems too. When the predator is hungry and finds the resource with naïve fledglings, it’s a tough battle

    Some stayed around for a bit! Unfortunately, a few months after the project the client chose to start clearing the native scrub habitats through the middle of the property which has pushed them on and/or exposed to predatory attacks

    What is most effective for pine bark beetle, wet or dry cup?

  • @nativebirdboxesinc.6354
    @nativebirdboxesinc.63543 ай бұрын

    We prefer dry cup. When using wet cup, have a hard time putting the recommended solution in there and where do you then dump it. Using water also in the wet cup is fine too.

    Amazing footage! That looks like a huge fish (a fully grown/adult Bass?) the bird caught! The fish was struggling, but the hungry Anhinga managed to fully consume (alive?!) it all okay? It looked like the unlucky thing was desperately kicking sliding down that long throat! I wonder, does the large fish stand any chance of escaping if eaten in that condition? Maybe it can turn around inside the elastic throat/stomach and has a chance of survival here.

  • @nativebirdboxesinc.6354
    @nativebirdboxesinc.63546 ай бұрын

    It was crazy to witness! Typically the larger the fish, the more those birds wait for it to be completely dead before swallowing. Smaller the fish they sometimes spirit once then swallow.
