Welcome to my KZread channel. Here, I make videos reviewing various older animated series (mostly those made from 1991-2010). These are full restrospectives on them, going into their history, styles, and best/worst episodes.
I also create SpongeComs, commentary tracks for SpongeBob episodes as they turn 20 years old. They’re made to celebrate the series’ history, qualities and legacy.
Keep a lookout for full reviews of your favourite animated shows, and commentaries for your favourite SpongeBob episodes!
NOTE: Although I make my videos for viewers of all ages, they’re generally designed to be viewed by people of age 13 and over. I talk about cartoons, but in a mature, analytical way. Additionally, while I’m in the process of finding ways to monetise my channel, I don’t own the rights to any of the cartoons featured here. They count as fair use under the way I review and analyse them. KZread is my hobby, and I prefer to keep it as such. Have a good day.

Wishing you Well does feel like a spin-off of Idiot box/The Paper, with the theme of exploring each characters world view on fantasy. Q.T; A mix between Squidwards wish & Plankton wish (which was a nice callback to Sleepy Time).
This was the first episode of the show I watched
If you’ve watched the show from the beginning you’ll know that current South Park is not written by Matt or Trey
I honestly wish they could've done more character development as originally intended without the interference they had. The bit of character development they were able to do intrigued me and wish they could've been expanded upon.
The cleaner scene is one of Pixar’s crown jewels, it’s so methodical. It feels like an ode to toy hobbyists to balance out Al’s sleeze. Shocked you don’t appreciate it! Wall-E is also my favorite Pixar and it came out when I saw 7… your theory holds water.
Thanks for explaining Toy Story 4 so I didn't need to see the movie, I now do not wanna watch it because that ending is garb.
It's a boring lifeless cash grab after G4 ended.
The Looney Tunes Show is an absolute modern classic!!
You could tell that they gave up on trying when the second season came along.
I remember when the episode came out. My jaw hit the floor 😂
Chargen? I believe the word you meant is Chagrin, pronounced like sha-grin.
Do you not know how to say chagrin?
Snippled off.... that's new to me
According to Matt and Trey, the episode was primarily a deliberately incredibly dark homage to golden era cartoons. Even Kenny's death is a reference to the weasels laughing themselves to death in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Cartman has always been my favorite character
The Muppet Babies had an episode as well.
I think it’s cause of how the fan base has got a bit softer over the years
I really like how you approach making content. I try something similar. Keep it up!
I am going to recommend your channel on mine.
Not sure if this was said anywhere but... GOOD LUCK for all of the 2007 episodes-
My favorite wish would definitely either be Squidward's wish of being "far away from here" being an extremely well executed "random" gag. And the finale with Mr. Krabs wish, being both really dark but also a fun send off. Unrelated, but I also kind of view "Wishing You Well" as sort of a mid-point for Season 4 because it does feel like a "different season" after that point compared to before. Not to say there isn't any more good episodes in the season, moreso the rest of the season feels admittedly a bit more standard and cliche with MOST of the plots moving forward. (As well as not being AS funny, but I guess humor is subjective)
The "9 years ago" text is a lie. Toy Story: 1995 Toy Story 2: 1999 Toy Story 4's flashback scene: 2005 Toy Story 3: 2010 Toy Story 4 (including post-credit scenes): 2019 Forky Asks A Question: 2019 Toy Story 5: 2026
My favorite wishes would have to be Plankton becoming a giant, Mrs. Puff's cool hot rod, and Krabs getting his just-desserts by being steamed and served with butter. EDIT: I'm turning 23 in two days! :)
Happy birthday dude.
In response to the question at the end, I like when this show breaks the fourth wall but in unique ways, like SpongeBob literally taking the shortcut to the Krusty Krab in a bubble scene transition. Meta humor can be overdone but that sort of stuff catches me off guard and brings a smile to my face. I also loved that time where Krabs, Squiddy, Patrick and SpongeBob were laughing at the end for a bit and then got bored and walked away with no music or anything in the background.
not char- gin. sha-grin is the pronunciation.
“Oooh yes the tears of unfathomable sadness”
9:00, do folks with your accent really say char-jin, instead of sha-grin? I've never heard it pronounced that way before. Either way, nice video.
My favorite wish... hard to pick. The Steamed Krabs.
All that Glitters is the worst. Wishing You Well is the best! @employeeamillion: What's your favorite wish in Wishing You Well? Me: Being a giant and having a fiery hot rod!
Just because of Ren and Stimpy, many shows exist
Here's my ranking of the Toy Story films: 1. Toy Story 3 2. Toy Story 3. Toy Story 2 4. Toy Story 4
They didn't fight "tooth and nail" to get the movie past censors - they've openly said that in comparison to Orgazmo, getting the South Park movie past the censors was easy due to studio backing. The MPAA actually worked with and advised them, which they only do for studio movies. They've said a few times they enjoyed seeing what they could get away with - including the title. No idea where you got your information from.
Patrick: You got your elbow in my ribs. Squidward: Eww. Patrick: And stop stepping in my potato salad! Me: You have food? You mean to tell me you could've climbed out of the well to get food at anytime?! Patrick: No, not at anytime. Only when it was funny.
Mrs.Puff's wish is my favorite.(Cool boat.😎)
19:15 You know what's funny? When I was a kid, I used to think claustrophobia meant people being afraid of Santa Claus until I would later learn it means afraid of small spaces. Still a pretty good joke, though.
Wishing you Well is a Masterpiece.♥️
The Steamed Krabs is undoubtedly the best.🦀
0:12 damn just like me fr fr
My favorite wish. Is the one where Squid word gets hit by a bus. It's so random, but funny..
Squidward is afraid of Santa Claus
Poor creature, this is why we don't deserve Squidward.
Cartman became everybody's favourite character by becoming the villain the show needed 😂
Hearing the term "sjw" makes me cringe harder than anything. I dont ever need to be reminded of 2014-2020 KZread politics until my deathbef where all my greatest achievements and worst mistakes will flash before my eyes as my consciousness screams into non-existence.
I defiantly prefer the earlier art from the 80s and 90s. The new art is good but the old art is way better in my opinion.
hey, i remember this. fuck i'm old
My Bottom 5: 5. Pets or Pests 4. The Splinter 3. Choir Boys 2. Boating Buddies 1. Squids Visit (My least favorite episode of the whole show)
9:00 The word you're looking for is "chagrin". Good video otherwise.
Cartman is one of the greatest fictional characters.
Growing up in the 90’s Rugrats lost my interest when the first movie came out. I hated the new character and it solidified a downward trend in the series for me
I always loved Scott tenorman must die as an episode.
"Much to their 'chargin'" 😂 Hey man.. i think you mean *chagrin*. Pronounced "sha-grin". You had the R in the wrong place.
Awesome-O is such a good episode, because it’s the opposite of Scott Tenorman Must Die.
