This show was criticized at the time and through the years. But watching this, other than the over-done flirting scenes by Paul, this had some good writing. I think it could have lasted if they didn't go overboard with some of Paul Lynde's scenes. It was awkward watching him look at that young girl's breasts. Nevertheless I laughed a lot, especially the last scenes.

When they said in the dream they were married 25 years, the episode aired in 1955. They couldn't have even imagined how clothing and music styles would have evolved between 1955 and 1980, so they just stayed where they were.

It probably didn’t last because nobody took Paul as a father figure seriously. Also the slapstick didn’t work; Paul was a dialogue comedian.

In the first 4 minutes, we see a very young Tony Randall ("The Odd Couple" movie, I think) and the young lady who played Jerry Mathews' (Beaver's) teacher on TV"s "Leave It To Beaver". People have said I have a talent for recollection of TV and movie character's names, but I just can't recall the name of that young lady who played Beaver's teacher in the TV series! 🤔

This show is a click because they look good together aside from the funny lines of course. In the Eve Arden show, there was no chemistry with the potential love interest. Probably why it wàs only for 1 season. Just too bad. I love Eve Arden.

Fun! I just dont think he is believable in the role of a husband and father, and the sexual plot here is kinda bent. I wonder if this show slowed Elizabeth Allen’s career down? They had him fall down on the floor often for a laugh, too, i notice. Lol.

Obviously people don't know good material. It's a mystery what takes off and what doesn't. This show seemed pretty good. I never, ever understood the fascination with "Friends" or "Seinfeld". Some shows they let run too long, I.E. "Mash" and "Andy Griffith Show". They ran out of material and the last few seasons were terrible. The "in color" Andy shows were just awful. Howard Spraque and Andy's new deputy, just awful. That show should have ended when Barney left
