  I just completed this modification and then took the mag well off for even more comfort. I was concerned that even though the magazine springs look to be the exact length of each other when swapping out. I contacted Springfield and they did not know, or could not tell me if the 13 and 19 round magazines came with he same mag spring.? I just want to make sure that this mod will work without causing a malfunction prior to using as my EDC. They did say there is two different part numbers for the two mag springs, but I believe that is due to the small black metal plate at the bottom which are different sizes on each

  Thanks you Rek. I know it’s been about two years since you did this video but I just purchased the XDM elite and Pearce Grips to extend the mags and you couldn’t have been more helpful. There’s videos on KZread showing off the grip extension but not assembling it. Thanks again.

  The springs are the same. They are interchangeable. Yes, I place the spring from the 22 rd to the 13 rd.

  Mine is almost 5 years old now. Even with the original tires and wheels that came with it, depends on my driving. If you are familiar with I-90 from Spokane to Seattle, about 280 miles, cruising between 70-80mph, I get 32mpg. between 80-90mph I get 28mpg the lowest. With the KO2s, so far, granny driving within speed limit sometimes passing at 80mph, I get 30mpg.

  No mods. No lift. Stock. It's the biggest tires you can install on a 17 inch wheels, 35mm offset. 245/65R17. The wheels came from an XLE.

  The magwell doesn't bother me, I have long slender fingers. But the mags without the sleeves look weird without the magwell. If you remove the magwell, definitely get the mags with cooresponding sleeves.

  I was going to do this & got hung up on the removal of the lens due to the sprayer. Did you just disconnect the rubber line from the sprayer nozzle, or did you have to go in from the interior & remove the back tailgate plastic trim to disconnect the rubber. Since parts are getting hard to get I did not want to break any brittle plastic making assumptions. thank you

  (just following the safety nazis) with no magazine, empty chamber, cock your rifle and release, or slide your bolt backwards and release, this is to make sure the your trigger is away and will not block. NEXT is to lock your trigger safety. Then @2:46 see where my finger is? imagine the rifle is upright (i just placed it between my thighs 😀) using 3/32 pin punch, with the same angle as the pin, just carefully do a light punch with your hammer and it should go down. I did quite of work with mine because of some rust. wd40 help loosening it.

  @4:06 if there is no rust in between, it should fall down. wd40 helps loosening it. just do a light punch from the right side of the gun to the left. look at the direction of my finger @4:06

  Why wouldn't you just get the full size mags and put mag grip extension on the longer mags they just slide on and it would turn the handle from short compact grip to full size grip and be done with it ..

  You should take the mag well flar off and just buy 17,19&22 rd mag and get sleeves for them and it turns the handle in a nice comfortable full size handle and be done with it keep to flush fitting mags so you can carry concealed and the rest with the mag sleeves they just slide on and off no mus no fus

  Watch out for your speed now. The larger the tire, the more offset there will be in what your actual speed will be. Probably not much, but police can be picky. lol Those really are some nice looking slabs of rubber! 😃

  Yah I'm curious how well these hold under real recoil. Airsoft optics tend to fail because of non-potted electronics. But optic mounts don't really have many fail points other than where it is attached.

  @@travisolexa3074 i bought it to test on a real gun... the mount it's self may hold zero but i can't get in to mount properly to a gun so i can't even test it.

  Good video, thanks. Springfield could have done WWAAYYY better on that back strap and magazine sleeze. There is no reason the straps didn't have a set bottom that matched the same mag sleeve instead of this 1,2,3 stuff.

  Excellent! Bought one today and the ONLY thing I didn't like was not having anywhere for my pinky to go. Doing this fixed it! I have the 4.5 as well and just swapped magazine plates with those and now the gun is comfortable and looks awesome. Thank you for sharing!

  Hey @rekasky you can buy the mags with grip extension sleeves from Springfield Armory or you can buy the pinky extension plate from Pearce and ithey will both look and fit pretty dang well.
