    I wouldn’t recommend Good Fellas Shibusa, but it smelled good and works just fine. For the price there are better options though. In terms of lather, RazoRock I’ve found is the best in my opinion, it just feels higher quality lather than Good Fellas, and Zingari Man offers stronger scents. My only disappointments with Good Fellas is the scent is weaker than others and lather doesn’t feel as luxurious. But for someone who is still using nasty Gillette gel, goodfellas blows them out of the water. I’m still using the shibusa 2 no complaining.

    Very nicely shaved. Plum is one scent I do not have in my den. I've been thinking about maybe buying HC&C's Italian Plum scenting oil. Then again, I'm not buying anymore. Have a great weekend, my young friend.

    ... And the answer is? ? Only very few of us have counted and measured to know how long does a shave soap last. I made a small number of these studies and posted them to my channel. How many shaves per puck depends on the particular product and how much a person uses in a typical shave. I am finishing checking another soap now, and it appears to be that I did 163 shaves and used 70 grams. I have not yet finished the whole puck; I still have a few grams more to go. This one is firm but moldable. How many shaves can you do with a puck of Mitchell's WoolFat Soap?

    The reality is the straight razor is not as close a shave as any modern multi blade razor. It just isn’t. Most people don’t go against the grain with a straight razor well the only way to get a truly clean shave is by going with, against, and across the grain. That’s 3 lathers and 3 passes. If you did this with a straight razor you’d have just as much if not more inflammation.

  • @ed8054
    @ed805411 сағат бұрын

    Not necessarily true. 3 passes is 3 blades with a straight razor. A modern razor is gonna be minimum 3 blade passes with every lather. Yeah modern razors get a close shave but they are frequently expensive and not very friendly to folks with certain types of skin. I know this because I used modern multi blades for years before switching to DE and straight razors. I used to spend upwards of $50-75 a year on blades. I tried all the big ones to find one that worked with my sensitive skin. The moment I got used to DE, my shaves are just as close and I only spend about $6 per year on blades. Sure, it takes 2 mins longer for the extra pass or two but my skin loves the results.

    Great vid, John! A little misunderstanding. Gillette never used copper in their razors. They used two different brass alloys commonly known as yellow-brass and red-brass. The red-brass contains 25% more copper in the alloy and was used because of the extra antibacterial properties copper has; it was believed that the red-brass top cap would prevent infections when the razor was used in the trenches and other less clean enviroments. Have a great weekend! #WAD

    My favourite GEM is also the Featherweight. Agree on everything you said. I have one honourable mention in the GEM razor family, and that is the GEM Damaskeene. Been using one for some time now, and it's a great shaver. You just have to respect the required shave angle, and it is great. You try to scrape with it, and it will remind you very fast that you're doing it wrong 😊 I'm waiting for a little shipment from the US. There should be a GEM Junior baton handle , a 1912 and a Featherweight (for a friend) in there. Eager to try the baton handle one. I have a 3D printed one for a year or so, and I love the ergonomics of it. Had to have the real thing. 👍
