    Really sorry to hear that man. I definitely will be getting a nice set of head to toe gear before I start taking it out. It’s going to take a second to get the feel of the bike too. I didn’t feel comfortable enough to rev it all the way out or to go over half throttle so I made sure I kept it in the range I was comfortable. I’ve seen way too many videos online of people wrecking. I will always be as cautious as I can out there and I will be sure to respect the power that the bike has. I really appreciate your comment!

    Isn't it amazing how simplistic the throttle body is on a TPI engine and super easy to work on I've rebuilt carbs and other throttle bodies that had an abundance more parts and more aggravating to fix than the one on my 85 Corvette.

    I have a 1985 Corvette with a 383 Lingenfelter engine with aftermarket tuned port tubes and intake. Last time I had it out it went 11.60 at 118 mph. You can still go fast with a tuned port set up if you get the right parts!

    Just an fyi thm 350 don’t use a tv cable the 700r4 does that controls the pressure I. The trans for shift it let the trans basically in laymen’s terms what the load on the engine is for shifts and if adjusted wrong can burn up the trans. The thm 350 has a kick down cable and only makes the trans downshift when you give a lot of throttle it what they used to call passing gear. The thm 350uses a vacuum modulator to determine the load from the engine vacuum to control shifts in the tranny. When you do a manual valve body you can do away with the vacuum modulator but will not have any auto shifts you have to manually shift it. They make kits that allow you to have a manual valve body and still have auto shift but you still need the modulator for that set up.

  • @DanDrivesYT
    @DanDrivesYT3 ай бұрын

    Yessir! The corvette has the 700 in it right now and I’m pretty sure the TV cable was the culprit for the first one burning up. So ditching the 700 for a 350 and I really enjoy manually shifting so figured the manual valve body route will be the way to go!

  • @ericclevenger7764
    @ericclevenger77643 ай бұрын

    @@DanDrivesYT maybe it was the way you worded it just sounded like you were saying the thm 350 had a throttle valve cable and I hope I wasn’t sounding rude. Nothing wrong with the thm 350 my 81 Camaro with a 383 stroker has one and when I did my 95 mustang we built a 351w bored to a 356 I put a c6 trans behind it. My Camaro has the kick down hooked up but I have an automatic/ manual valve body in the mustang and I shift manually 95 percent of the time so if I were going to get on it I just manually shift down and if my wife drives the car she just puts it in drive so it works. Like I said hope I’m not coming off rude I do enjoy watching local people build cars. Between my father my father in law my brother and law and me we have 14 fun cars as I call them we build 1 or 2 cars a year. Btw I’ve seen you race out a Quaker we go out there and watch the races a lot. And again like I said hope I didn’t sound rude it was just the way it sounded on the video

My father in law has a 96 mustang with a 408 stroker and he had a 99 he did a 351w in his son totaled he pulled the engine and is putting it in another 99 mustang and he’s building a 427 stroker for an 02 or 03 mustang. Buddy you can't mess on the mechanical idle screw ( which is sealed with a cap by factory for a reason) without RESETTING THE TPS SENSOR AT.54 VOLT.GET A 85 SHOP MANUAL there's a specific procedure to set idle and reset the TPS sensor which tells the ecm where idle and open throttle is .54- 4,5 volt

    The 85 was a one year only by many aspects,one of which actually is the 24 lb injectors. I don't remember if she came with the multec or Lucas, but the 24 size it's known.I have an 85 and Ican confirm she goes very rich on 24 Bosch III

    These mid ‘80s C4 models were solid mid-14 second runners. Some tuning could get them a little better. Awesome cars! Install some 24lb. LT1 injectors, Hypertech Thermomaster chip with 160* thermostat and the Hypertech Cool Fan Switch, and some good quality Marches aluminum Underdrive Pulleys, SLP intake runners and throttle body and it will be running 13 second 1/4 miles. When these L98 engines are able to breathe well on the intake and exhaust sides they really come alive.
