hihi i wanted to ask how it was like making friends in the beginning at yonsei, did u meet friends thru ur dorm/orientation/classes?

Helloo! For 2023 Fall semester the dorm move-in started a week before classes, which left plenty of time to meet people and make friends. Basically everyone's hustling around so you see a lot of people daily. One of the freshmen made a group chat on kakao that I joined two monhts prior to even coming to Korea so everyone in the chat basically new each other already., which was really helpful. I found it through reddit! I'd advice to not get stuck in your room and roam around campus and common areas instead and ask people to hang out/go buy stuff for dorms etc. As most of the ppl come here alone everybody's open and eager to make friends :) As long as you're open and social you won't have any problems making friends~

Helloo~ the dorms unfortunately don't offer any bedding. I brought my own pillow with me, but me and my friends bought our comforters and blankets from the upper floor stores of Homeplus, which is a retail store. There's one near the campus!

UIC is an international school so we have all nationalities, including koreans. However we do not share classes with main Yonsei majors (majors taught entirely in korean), where most koreans study.

I believe there are some single rooms but they are more expensive and I think you have to have a reason to stay alone (eg. a medical problem). You can choose to start in either March or September, but most foreigners do start during Fall.

helloo! All Yonsei freshmen must stay one year at the dorms in Songdo international campus in Incheon and depending on your major your classes may be conducted at the main campus in Sinchon starting Sophmore year (which is my case). Upon moving to Sinchon you have the chance to apply for the dorms there (muak, SK global, international house) that may be more familiar to you :) those dorms are more known as most exhange students stay there! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video <3
