As always, the editing on this video is PHENOMENAL! And I really love the introspective breakdown on tøp's approach to the concepts of fame and success, a linear theme we've seen throughout albums (lane boy, levitate, and then backslide + the craving in response to SAI). Can't wait to see what you cook up next dude!

Unpopular opinion. I think Scaled and Icy really is a fine album. It supposed to be different. It was a perfect time storywise for them to experiment with the sound. I didn't like SaI at first myself. But if you listen to the album it really has great songs on it like Choker, No Chances, The Outside, Mulberry Street or Redecorate. That album still has a TOP unique imprint to it. Its problem lies at the core. You need to follow the story to comprehend why Scaled and Icy is the way it is. Unfortunately we live in a fast-food entertainment reality and people simply just don't care about this story. After listening to Clancy I feel like Scaled and Icy is a stronger album in terms of everything. So I think SaI will always be underrated because of its bright theme even though in reality it's a decent record.

I don't think any music artist/band will ever be able to achieve the level of storytelling and detail that Twenty One Pilots has. Tyler and Josh put a lot of work into what they create. Tyler also writes in a way that tells a story, but also hints at what's to come. The entire story of DEMA and Clancy has been told in one of the most impressive ways I've ever seen. The way their music videos connect directly to the songs and the rest of the story is insanely impressive. I love this band's music and I can't wait to see how the story ends.

Paul Meaney said him and Tyler worked on 25 songs in total. That's 12 songs that are unreleased and apparently they worked on Clancy for 6 years, that's enough time to make two albums and create the insane puzzles.

i dont necessarily think its one of their most powerful songs, i think it really depends on the listener and what the listener is going through or how lyrically congruent the music is to well the listeners life experience, for me kitchen sink or any song on vessel or rab or self titles even blurryface are very powerful to me just because i listened to their music when i went through a very tough time in my life, though someone could make the same argument for this song and the current era or T.O.P and the lore, ngl i liked the older stuff when there wasnt lore or just some deep story line, just tylers feelings yk? i thought the lore was cool in the beginning when the went on hiatus and well the lore i believe started from the fanbase but i could be wrong, maybe it was just tyler experimenting with starting a story line to help with songwriting and the fanbase really rocked with it. basically what im saying is, every song is powerful or deep, just depends what perspective you have on it really or what your life experience has been like. i just disagree with the statement for neon gravestones being their most powerful song as someone whos been listening to them for a decade

Thank you so much for this analysis! As someone who has loved this song since its release, I have been closer to my grandmas(both mom's side and dad's side) and they have taught me so much and still do. I have been struggling with my own healing mental health process since a very young age, and even if I still feel down sometimes, Twenty One Pilots' music and many other artists motivate me to keep going and do more, which even led me to be preparing myself to work in the music industry now. I don't really say it much to anyone but this song specifically represents so much in my personal life, so seeing people like you sharing the impact it has is truly valuable for me, thanks again!
