What exactly is a “blowout?” Is it all the same injury? Or a range of injuries? Dislocation? Ruptured tendon? Stress fracture? (I’m not medically trained, so I know I must sound a little dim.)

It’s not normal to throw a ball that hard over hand. Way more natural to throw side arm or under

If you've ever seen the ridiculous angle of the pitchers' arm during the delivery, it's a wonder the thing doesn't just snap off. The arm is bent in a totally unnatural position.

How many arm injuries do the Japanese starters have in comparison to MLB? Japan doesn’t allow starters to pitch more than once a week. MLB would do well to expand rosters to (6) starters. The powers to be want to talk about maximum effort and spin rate. They don’t want to expand rosters because that’s money they don’t want to spend. And who’s to blame for salaries getting out of control? Owners. They are the ones making those decisions.

Got a question. Just how many Tommy John surgeries were there before the end of the 1968 season? Just how many Tommy John surgeries have there been after the 1968 season? After the 1968 MLB season there was a lowering of the mound by a full foot. Not experimenting with the notion in the Minor Leagues beforehand, evidently. Not like three inches at a time sort of deal per year or so.

Do players with arm injuries like this recover and continue to pitch? I am so ignorant about baseball and injuries like these that I would really like to know what the prognosis is after injuries of this type.

Saunders was on unbelievable amounts of juice, which is precisely what caused this. The ligaments and tendons cannot keep pace with the muscle growth. Terrible scene there.

I tore my bicep tendon away from my forearm. My bicep muscle went up to my shoulder in a ball. It hurt like made me sick to my stomach for 30 sec, then quit hurting at all. Even after it was "fixed" , my bicep had slid up the tendon and never will look like it did before. Cramps easily too.

I injured my arm mid pitch and high school and a teammate of mine said what was that? I hated that cocky mofo. Guy made so many infield errors, but he was friends with the coach. That’s what happens when you have a coach only a few years older than you. Also, I never really recovered from it and had to quit baseball

Hate to say it but pitchers in the modern era are too good. They are consistently throwing at the physical limits of the human body. This is needed to keep thinning the herd.
