    Sorry to resurrect a "zombie" post, but I have the Stealth MK II and all I get is noise with these systems....I play a note on the keyboard and there is all this underlying hum/noise that stops when the note stops...it also randomly emits squawks and light click/thumps. So I cannot recommend it at all!! Oh and I have tried like, 30 different channels, all showing a clear signal and it happens on all of them!

    Thanks for this video! I have the Shure GLDX guitar wireless system & that was working great for 2 or 3 months. Then the receiver started cutting out. Sometimes 10 or 12 seconds at a time. great review Scott. Using the device and very happy about that. The only topic which I can not cover so far (and you show in your video only the result, but not the preparation steps) is to control lights over this device. I did not find how to set up the MIDI channel on B Beat for sending the commands. Any chance you remember how you did that? I assume the channel must be the same as on the DMX light controller. Is this something what you cover in one of your other videos (did not find in the video "How to use midi to control your dmx lighting" as that is not dedicated to cover this device), Thank you

    Good quick rehash for those new to your channel! In one of my bands my bassist and I both have 2.4ghz budget units and my transmitter hijacks both receivers. This is why I typically bring my 5.8ghz to keep out of the way. We both always have patch cords handy in case something goes wrong and live with being tethered again. It's a perk, not a privilege :)

    Couldn't agree more - I've got the Lekato in ear system which i almost went full time on but it often messes with our 2.4Gig Router for mixing the band. We use expensive AKG in ears and even those crackle almost all the time, i resynced my pack and its better now, but some venues give crackle. I use a Boss pedal board wireless system (WL-60) on 2.4 and a backup lekato system (the swift audio comparible one on 700mgz i think). I wanted a 1 device does one thing setup but it just isn't the case, 2.4 is a terrible band, and 5g wasn't any better (tried the amoon 5g system and it froze twice on me on stage, and having to manually select channels on both systems doesnt work for me). Anyways cheers Dude!

    I did an A/B, and it wasn't a waste of time. It was missing bottom-end. I ran it through a spectrum analyzer and there is NOTHING below 120Hz, like you put a HPF on it. Above 120Hz, it is a near match for a direct cable, which is nice. Battery life was 8 hours first time full-to-dead, and that went down by 25% on subsequent charges. The phantom power cuts transmitter life significantly (from 6 hours to 4 hours) but I won't be using them for condensers due to the missing low-end. I have two sets and will use them to wirelessly send to fill speakers at reception events or for VOG announcements and wandering questions from the audience, not critical audio. They work great for that up to about 50-feet through one wall, not quite 100-feet unobstructed.

  • @ScottUhlMusic
    @ScottUhlMusicКүн бұрын

    Thanks for sharing! I appreciate it. I still use this one quite often and it works great. 8 hours of battery life is awesome, and even if it's lower, I don't mind, as long as it survives 4 hours. I did just release a video about setting expecations on budget/cheap wireless: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nYmCpKqiZamZkbQ.htmlsi=a_tek37zIs7cyrSF If there is nothing below 120, I think that's actually great for microphones. Might cut a little out of PA systems if you don't have a separate channel for subs though. Wireless range always depends on the venue location and the RF of that environment. Sometimes it will be 50 ft, sometimes 100, sometimes 10... it all depends. Again, thanks for sharing your experience!

    About tip 2 - cheap equipment means that you can get high chanse of getting defective one or manufacturer can change something and all products in some series can get a huge issues. I have NUX Mighty Plug Pro MP3 that has incredible amount of noise and high freq hiss on some amps - and it is a problem of all 2023 made NUX MP3. And also I bought XLR Lekato system that you recommended couple of years ago - and it was totally unusable - it distorts sound a lot (I mean, it works like overdrive pedal with any mic, even "classic" SM58) and it loosing signal every minute - but my friend bought same one and his XLR Lekato works great. Best statistics that I have on hands is Ammoon AM-5G: lots, literally tons of my friends have it and it kinda 1-2 defective ones for 40-50 grean ones. Also, I use Ammoon AM-5G for about 3+ years, and all ammoon systems that I bought first, started getting problems with battery one by one, after 3 years of kinda everyday operation. Repair was easy and quick, inside this system was a standard lithium battery that costs me 4$ in local store (and I ordered few more on aliexpress for 2$ each). 2 drops of solder - and my Ammoon AM-5G became as good as new.

  • @hellsq
    @hellsqКүн бұрын

    Lekato system (I have the same but with M-Vave logo on it) that you note as 1 channel only has 10+ channels. It just dont have channel switch button and it needs to go to pairing mode to sync transmitter and receiver channels, it works like low-latency bluetooth and uses same frequencys. I use it as a backup IEM for my band due to its incredibly small size and when we used 5 pairs at one time on different channels (different AUX mixes on Behringer XR18) - it works pretty fine. Only problem is that its channels kinda wide - so, if you use 2-3 and more pairs at same time - in my cases, all 2.4Ghz Wifi routers became totally unusable, I mean totally, wifi connection works about 5-6 seconds and then ipad looses connection to router (and it was external D-Link, not internal router in XR18), I tried to switch router channels - no effect. When I disable 3 of 5 transmitters and left with only 2 AUX IEM (divided between 5 receivers) - only then I got fine wifi connection to my XR18. Biggest cons of this system is lacking of any input gain indication or input gain controls. And 12ms latency. M-Vave has 5.8 Ghz IEM system like this (but it still not on their website), a bit larger body size, it literally kills every 5.8Ghz guitar wireless on stage - and has about 28ms latency (yep, this is very bad).

  • @ScottUhlMusic
    @ScottUhlMusicКүн бұрын

    Oh interesting! That makes sense, that it finds a clear signal… but with no real way to change it, that’s a little rough. And the more cheap wireless on stage, the more likely you will run into problems. Thanks for sharing!

    @@ScottUhlMusic yes, so I use it only as a backup. This days I just divide systems by frequencys: I use 4 IEM transmitters with 5 reciever bodypacks (bass player and drummer on one channel - if they have some issues, they will get it together=)) working on 500-600 mhz range, 2.4 Ghz wifi router and 5.8 Ghz instrument systems like Ammoon.

    Curious to get your thoughts on the BLX24r (H9 band) mic system for a Colorado Springs band playing Denver pretty often. Shure frequency finder shows available freq’s in both cities, would you run it if you didn’t have cash for SLXD? … it’s weird cuz our IEM’s are the PSM300’s (J13 band) and show 0 freq’s available in Denver but (knock on wood) but they’ve worked almost flawlessly in Denver thus far

  • @ScottUhlMusic

    Yeah check the band for the best one. But once you start adding more and more wireless you’ll want the higher end stuff.
