Pallbearer

Pallbearer

Mind Burns Alive finds Pallbearer navigating the space between disquiet and serenity with a singular intensity. At times poetic and blistering, their fifth full length is a heartfelt meditation on isolation, trauma and mental breakdown, framed by the possibility of redemption and the quiet, aching beauty of escape.

Haven’t listened to another song for about a week now. In general, most music doesn’t deliver the emotional content to match the lyrics, but here they’re so perfect suited. The artwork, too, is perfect. It’s that life ablaze. Not so much the rage at dying of the light, but the confusion and frustration of it, and the pain of losing yourself, becoming unrecognisable to yourself and those you love, where the anguish of it all becomes the only constant thing left to you. The little glimmers of optimism, the hints of self-recognition, they just make it all the more devastating. When a song can pull all these things out of you, it’s truly a work of art.

This has to be my favorite track on this album. It speaks to a lot of what is going on in the world right now.

Releasing this INCREDIBLE piece of art on the same year as the 10 anniversary as Foundation of Burdon is fitting. Foundation changed the way I view music and seeing you on that tour solidified it for me. Shows how much you have honed and progressed and both albums are masterpieces. I cannot stop listening and I dent want to. Bravo guys. See you in San Francisco soon....

I found y'all back in 2014 when "Foundations of Burden" came out. This is going to be cliche, but that album changed things for me and I've been a devoted listener to all your guys' stuff ever since. Can't explain what your music has done for me. And this new album is no different. Incredible, as always. Thank you.

Their best album since Foundations of Burden. This track starts like Alice In Chains, then turns LOW, and finally explodes like... Pallbearer.

I’ve got to be honest, I’ve cried at some point to every album by Pallbearer. This album is no different. There is a deep inner pain that only music seems to touch, these gentlemen are masters at touching that very pain. Thank you, forever grateful for the catharsis you bring.

June 29th at the Hall in Little Rock. It will be my daughter's first show. She's almost 8. She's super excited, especially after we met in the kroger parking lot, and I came home with news of new music. I have been fan for 10 years now and it will be my second time to see yall live. So stoked.

This band has always been about emotional depth for me. And excellent melodies too but the strength of emotion is what places this band far above the lazy "weed bong satan" caricature that doom metal has been for years now. They are like the Emperor of doom metal. While every other black metal band painted their face and wore dollar store spikes and chains to their live shows, Emperor stuck with melody, songwriting, and ambience and made some of the best albums in the genres history. For this reason I think this band will be remembered way more than your average Dopethrone/Bongzilla/Satanworshipping doom copy. On the opposite end of the spectrum you have bands like Body Void, or Methdrinker, etc, just crushing for the sake of crushing, nihilistic to no end. And all these bands make great music, sure, but will they be remembered? Can you walk down the street and hum a Body Void song? No way bro. Pallbearer comes back with a true Foundations part 2 and kills it as usual. Absolutely love this band.
