Why hello there! This channel provides Let's Plays, but I do have special videos sprinkled in, such as vlogs, "top 5 such-and-such" and whatever else pops into my head. The LP's are a constant thing, usually one a day, and everything else is pretty much random :P Enjoy! Comments? Questions? Criticism? Feel free to PM me and I will get back to you ASAP!

    The trick to open the boxes in the future first, then go to before you open it after you opened it, is so subtle. But it does so much to establish Chrono Trigger's time travel as better than most time travel fiction. The multiverse timeline approach that other time travel media use, including Chrono Cross, is the easy way out; Because you don't have to deal with the "butterfly effect" style consequences. But here, they made an effort to have a linear timeline that stays consistent. that is way harder to write than a multiverse and very fascinating. You can see it in other parts of the game such as the Sun Stone sidequest, when it shows that Marle's existence is tied to Leene's survival, and how the Black Omen can be re-entered from the past.

    I love how Chrono Trigger deals with time travel! I'm generally not a huge fan of time travel stories as writers tend to use it to bring back dead characters, or as a cheat to get out of a situation, or is otherwise not very engaging. Chrono Trigger does time travel very well, and it feels like messing with the past has an actual impact on the future. Beating the final boss from different timelines, and during different times in the story/game itself, changes how the final cutscenes play out, which is really cool! I always loved that!

    Actually the PURE lands is the area at the END of the game the area before going to the Mana Fortress itself where if you have No armor everything will 1 shot the party 700+ damage AT lv 60. The Area on this video is called the Upper lands by the in game World map itself.

  • @veghesther3204
    @veghesther320411 ай бұрын

    At least your playing the easier SNES version on the PS4 remake the enemies here are actually lethal WITH the best armors equipped but on the PS4 remake the Pure lands enemies will still do 700+ damage without the Grand Palace armors and in the remake you can't actually spam attack magic making a no armors run in the remake even more impossible.

  • @veghesther3204
    @veghesther320411 ай бұрын

    About that a NO armors run is IMPOSSIBLE the 2nd to last area of the game AT lv 60 WITHOUT the buyable Grand Palace armors bought and equipped will hit you for OVER 700+ damage in 1 hit KILLING any of the 3 in 1 HIT without those armors bought and equipped. So a NO armors run is impossible because of that and Lucent Barrier to make you temporarily immune to physical damage won't last THAT long even as a LV 7 spell WITHOUT the Grand Palace armors equipped.

  • @Poz159
    @Poz15911 ай бұрын

    At this point, I have recorded the entire game with no armor, so while it is possible, it is indeed extremely difficult and probably impossible without battle magic. You are correct that enemies in the end game, especially bosses, do an absurd amount of damage, pretty much our full health. With that said, various magics like defender, slow down, balloon, etc. certainly help a lot. using items and support magic simply for the I-frames helps a lot as well. Lucent Barrier doesn't last very long, but it can still be helpful in small situations. Realistically, battle magic is the main reason why "no armor" is even possible during the last 2 or 3 sections of the game.

  • @manatheif
    @manatheif11 ай бұрын

    well not exactly true leveling up defender and the some of the other defensive magic can mitigate a lot.

  • @veghesther3204
    @veghesther320411 ай бұрын

    Defender still sucks I still took 700+ damage from the Pure Lands/Mana Fortress NORMAL enemies with lv 7 to lv 8 Defender used and the Grand Palace armors NOT equipped after still BUYING them. Bosses are immune to slow down/balloon etc so even if you drained their MP To zero their physical hits are still going to do 700+ damage once Lucent Barrier isn't in effect without the Grand Palace armors equipped even at lv 60. Without access to SAVE stats I do NOT recommend a NO armors run because of even the NORMAL Pure Lands enemies doing 700+ damage WITH LV 7 defender spells used its just that Lucent Barrier will last even SHORTER with no armors equipped.

    @@Poz159 In your opinion is no armor or no magic minus puzzles harder?

  • @Poz159
    @Poz159 Жыл бұрын

    @@manatheif I would say no armor is harder due to the fact that at many points in the game, you will be killed in 1 hit, 2 if you're lucky. Even with Gnome's defender magic, no armor gets absolutely brutal later on, which requires significant level grinding to balance out. With no magic, you can still do good damage with physical attacks, and you have healing items you can use if you need to. Some bosses are nearly impossible to hit with physical attacks, but do-able if you know the precise hitboxes.
