  Please discuss background blur. Or its always focused on the face/ eye so the background will be blurred around those, depending on the distortion of the particular lens especially near the edges.

  35mm 1.8 is one of my favorite lenses. Shots are similar. Size is the difference and aperture ring on the 40mm is what makes me carry that 40mm more often.

  On the video I use an additional handle on the hot shoe, you can remove that, use the small rig cage and the hot shoe is open.

  @@ShyYoung That's not true, Transition lenses keep working. The old ones eventually developed a small tint and wouldn't go ENTIRELY clear but I think they fixed that.
