We should talk a little bit about how nature is"exposed", it's more than time to think of it. When all pollinators will be wiped off, will we still have eyes to cry ? And for which result ?
Looks great, but are people earning good money to make this a viable business? Keeping in mind setup cost and training, etc. I've been looking into it for a while, so I'm genuinely interested to know.
@autospraysystems2 ай бұрын
The short answer is yes. The first place people have been earning is green house shading. It pay's very well and there's more than you would think in the UK. At the moment the areas to earn money are what niche ones, like seeding, fertiliser spreading but as soon as plant protection products are authorised in the UK, this will become much more wide spread. To give you something specific, they guys from QuadRotor Services bought 1 x P40 drone last year. They now have an order in for 2 x P100 Pros because they have so much work.

@@jamescoe6466 The first PPP Chems have been approved. In fact we were spraying on PPP's most of this week. These were under trial permits which will become more accessible over the coming months. It will then be an ongoing process with each PPP chem being authorised individually.

Good day, I have a question. Do UK plant protection products also have an approved dose for drone spraying on the packaging? Who decides what is the dose with which the drone will apply the spray? Thank you in advance.
@autospraysystems7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. At the moment, it's not legal to spray Plant Protection Products (PPP's) in the UK. If they appear on the Pesticide register you have to apply for special permission to apply them from a drone. So to answer your question, no, there's no dosage info on the packing but... This will change over time. There is a strong focus from the Government to get commercial drones into regular operations in agriculture. This area is regulated but the Health and Safety Executive in the UK, more specifically the Chemical Regulation Division (CRD) manages this process and we're working closely with them to make spraying PPP's by drone a reality. I've done a video about this. It'll be online over the next week or so.

Really interesting video and something I've been thinking of entering as a drone enthusiast. My background is in remote sensing and artificial intelligence and so I was wondering if there is much interest in multispectral surveying of fields at the moment? Perhaps something that is more useful when you are also able to conduct precision spraying operations as well.

Some farmers will invest but most would rather outsource the service. Partly because of the training required and the need to keep abreast of changing regulations. In the uk, many farmers rely on contractors so it’s really business as usual.

Great video, as a drone enthusiast but with no agricultural background my question would be why don't the farmers invest in this relatively cheap and simple tech for themselves rather than outsourcing it?
@autospraysystems9 ай бұрын
Many farmers are used to outsourcing spraying operations to specialist companies. Agricultural Contractors are part of the normal way of working in the UK. Also, some farmers will only need this service at certain times of year and investing in training and equipment mean they would rather outsource. All that said, the largest market in the short term will be specialist markets like green house shading. These are high value areas and drone offer the fastest and safest way of applying the paint.
