    So like, if these citterns are so new, are the old tunes coming from fiddle repertoire or a different instruments? What was it played on before the 80s?

    Probably the most beautiful piece I've hear in a long time. This is the closest I've seen someone get to fully expressing an emotion and story on such a gorgeous instrument without falling back on needlessly complex technique. This made me cry ^^

    I did joke, once, that it'd be funny if it turned out that old Germanic folk music would just be Oompah with different instruments. Kind of almost sounds like I could be on the right track, here- it keeps pairing up & repeating segments in sets of two & always ends a segment on a single big note (pardon my complete lack of music jargon. Hopefully, readers follow what I mean.)

    Does anyone know why the cittern is so particularly popular in scandinavia as opposed to bouzouki? Love this!

  • @rasmuserlandsson2204
    @rasmuserlandsson22046 ай бұрын

    Yes. It's constructed differently. Warmer, more top and bass and less "plonky". This specific one that Ale plays is 10/10, pretty much perfectly balanced. You want certain projection and combining all of this is very, very difficult.

    Wow! Great performance! As an early music enthusiast and lutenist, I have dabbled a bit with the renaissance cittern. It’s interesting to see this modern-day variety of the instrument and see that the practice of keeping the little finger down on the soundboard has survived all the way to modern times.

    Beautiful interpretation! Is there any possibility for you to send me the lyrics? Unfortunately I dont understand and I am currently making a research about scandinavian folk music. I am really curious about your lyric approach. Thank you in advance :)
