Re: Dark Caribbean setting: I like that you are using different names for the European colonial powers: Gallic for French, Albion for Britain, Iberian for Spain, what about the Dutch? Will you call them Lowlanders? Netherlanders? Sea-Landers?

So, it sounds like in order to be considered it needs to have nice layout and art. I get it, but as someone not at all artistically inclined I’ll still be submitting my idea (I think it’s cool) but I won’t hold my breath to be in the final running 😅

When doing ship combat. Do the PC's still roll all dice for attack and defense?

The GM rolls to attack, players don't roll defense. Though you could have the players make the roll... just "defending" doesn't make as much sense as the ship rolling to hit.

I absolutely love listening to these sort of 'At the Writers Desk' level conversations where you learn about Influences and Inspirations, Sampling of other designers works and so on, really is one of the best aspects of this entire Hobby. There is no Right way, no Wrong way, just the "Do it Well & Have Fun!" Way.

You DM style is pretty alligned with OSR one-shot improv style. Just forget balance and make the dice do the ruling part. They are merciless. Most times the DM will be just trying to keep the players alive. 😂
