It's called balance chasing. Synchrony drops your available credit as you pay. Just shameful for a bank to behave so poorly.
I know 3 people that have Carshield. 2 of them had their claims denied.
Had a bad experience getting Car Shield to replace the transmission. They 1st said the transmission was bad before I bought the policy. Being a rideshare driver I had my annual state inspection reports that showed the transmission was fine. I also had all my repair receipts that included a transmission flush and fluid replacement. It took two weeks to approve the repair but they refused to pay for the diagnostic charges even though they requested photos and video from the repair shop. They also refused to pay for the heating and cooling transmission switch. They would not accept the repair shop's transmission so they shipped one from their supplier which took another two weeks to arrive. The repair took a total of 5 weeks, $647 in out-of-pocket costs, and 5 weeks of lost income. I canceled the policy after the repairs.

Dewalt used to be a great company, but now it's crap. Milwaukee or Echo are are the only viable options now.

I don't trust any of these ads for car repairs, ins. for seniors to protect "loved ones", or any one of this type of "protection". Insurance cos. for homes, cars, are just as bad.
Your supposed to get the car detailed before returning it.
When I first started seeing the commercials, it just seemed too good to be true. I have owned several vehicles, but I've always either purchased the parts and fixed them myself or paid a certified mechanic to do the repairs.
Appalling Lack of Compassion from CarShield. Cruelty of elderly man with cancer! My father, a beloved pastor and the kindest man I know, was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Six months ago, we began the heartbreaking process of closing his accounts, selling his car, and canceling his insurance. Despite our efforts, we discovered that he still had debits from CarShield. Today, I called CarShield to shut down his account and request a refund. My father and I were utterly appalled by the lack of basic compassion or empathy shown for a man dying of cancer. There was no "I'm so sorry to hear this..." Instead, we encountered a young woman who was rude and the most insensitive human being we have ever come across. This woman refused to let me speak with anyone else, maintaining her nasty and rude demeanor. To make matters worse, we had previously sent CarShield a letter about this issue, and they conveniently claimed they didn’t receive it. How convenient to claim this when it comes to refunds! This is unbelievable. I demanded a refund for my 84-year-old father and strongly suggest CarShield staff undergo sensitivity training. I'm certain CarShield does not want to be known for such appalling practices.

After watching their dishonest commercials I Googled Car Shield reviews. 9 out of every 10 reviews was negative. It's without a doubt a scam.
I know and have met over 15 Car repairs shops in our area as I grew up with many that worked with me since 1976 and started their own business. I left the dealership in 1984 and began teaching at a local school and sent many of my students to these shops. None will accept Car Shield or Endurance as they try try to cut corners or repairs or reject claims.

Car shield definitely has their faults but one big problem is that people sign the contract without understanding what is or isn't covered and all the stipulations of the coverages. Then they expect everything to be covered no matter what the scenario is. Had they actually read and understood the contract in the very beginning Instead of listening to the salesperson they probably never would have signed it. Even if you have a legitimate claim car shield puts you through the ringer and makes you jump through many hoops to actually get the work done. They try to wear you down so you will give up on the claim.
If you buy a used vehicle, the only warranty you should buy is a factory backed warranty. If you can't purchase a warranty from the manufacturer, don't buy any warranty. Save your money for possible repairs. If you already own an older vehicle, don't buy any aftermarket warranties. As a former tech, I can tell you what a sham those non factory warranties are. The dealer I worked for wouldn't even offer them to customers.They know they are selling policies for used vehicles, and 'wear' is something they will not cover. Transmissions are one of the most rejected claims.

Beware of using Money Network to receive your money from State of California Employment Development Department people have already been experiencing fraud and getting all of their money hacked from their accounts with no explanation or help from the escalation team or the dispute department. Someone went into my account hours after I received my deposit that l've been waiting to receive for 22 days and took almost 2500 dollars!!!! I been on hold for 3 hours straight waiting to speak with someone that can help me. Every time I call them nobody has any answers at all. I've looked on other social media accounts and on google and everyone has been experiencing fraud. With this much fraud it's really starting to seem like it's a internal problem.

BBB 1 33 stars (1-5 scale) about as low as it goes. Think about all those actors lying on the commercials.
Every single person I have ever known that has tried to have a vehicle repaied dealing with ANY of the "car repair insurance" type companies ended up paying for their own repairs when all was said and done. They will fight tooth and nail to the death to keep from paying a single penny for any repair whatsoever. Save the money that you would throw away getting one of these worthless policies and use it to keep your car running. You can pay for one of these policies AND pay for your car repairs or you can just pay for your car repairs.
