You need to spend an amount equal to new bicycle (which is more ecofriendly and healthier ) to have the same problems created by paid service, which they will not be able to fix. Still, you need to avail SAME service(you cannot service it outside) to screw your scooter from left, right, top, bottom, front, back ! Again and again ! service will reduce your range. if your scooter running without any problem and you love your machine don't give it for service. if you do, be prepared to spend more days in service center (plan your leaves accordingly). CUSTOMER CARE in nutshell In social media :- This is certainly not the impression we want you to have We value your time and want to ensure that your needs are addressed promptly We are here for your support We understand how difficult this situation must be We are gutted to have fallen short of your expectations When Contacting on email :- We request you to kindly reach out to the nearest service center Finally somebody contacts on phone and asks :- Would you like to exchange existing Ather for new Ather? if any escalations contact us. me: I will not touch an Ather with a barge pole again ! PARTS Price in nutshell. costs 3x - 4x of compared to normal scooter parts. Parts are having premium price only, quality is substandard. compare price of frequently failing parts - transmission belt(s) , brake pads, ball bearings, steering cup cones etc.. with normal scooter, you will understand. check price of critical parts which may not fail(battery, lcd screen, electronics) but if failed after warranty period expired. You may need to throw away the scooter. VERDICT in nutshell This scooter is clearly not for middle class / common man/ people with low usage.(You are spending almost double the price of petrol scooter while buying including subsidy) Spending such a substantial amount on a scooter with a limited range, only to encounter issues after servicing, isn't worthwhile. The mental distress stemming from these problems in the scooter adds to the disappointment. The money you saved on petrol and much more than that, will be spending on service, parts replacement, and service plans. who can buy. People with high usage - around 30000 kms 50000 kms per year. Fanboys People with high bank balance. EV is not future ! Thanks Ather for giving a costly lesson.
