I hate pranks like this. Things like this is what makes social media toxic, and it gets normalized. Kids think it’s so funny to be rude and disrespectful as a “prank,” but it’s really an excuse to allow themselves to be horrible humans. They’re just showing their true colors; decent people don’t do things like this, even as a prank.

Even if mom asked me to I’d never tell her to shut up in front of dad. I’d have died right on the spot. Mom called to my daughter twice to come help her and since my daughter was on the computer she said Just wait a minute. Heard my dad’s desk chair scoot back and thought oh god she’s dead. But dad had mellowed in his old age. All he did was get up, shut the desk top computer off, turn her around in the chair and yell…Get Your Little Butt Up And Go Help Your Nana NOW. Still scared the bejesus out of her as he had never yelled at her before. I breathed a silent prayer of thanks she lived.

You did this one time and one time only in our house growing up, never again, learned the first time. Now when it came to my husband and the kids, he heard more talk back and did zilch, I was the heavy hand in the house, and guess who gets very little respect now as the kids are older, yep he gets almost no respect. I had zero back up in my house, but my kids respect me, more than I can say for him.
