Hi Guys - I grew up in the 60s. I try not to live in the past, but I have brought back a lot of memories from things I enjoyed growing up. You'll see a variety of videos of things that I remember. Do you remember 8-tracks & 45 record players? I've got an interest in early phonographs as well with my Victrola & Amberola Edison. Do you remember those first PCs we had? Wow, they were something to have in the early 80s. Commodore, Atari .. etc. I've got quite a museum of them. Check out my channel, I'd enjoy hearing from you! -- Atco

Only lingering issue is if you have a few clouds going by and the light level drops, you have to go out and do the unplug/replug, Now when I adjust the panel I always check the input watts. It’s a minor annoyance.

Another story: my cousin was travelling & saw a store with his same last name so he went in & asked the owner if they could be related & such & seemed to find no connection but just before he left, the guy said, "By the way, my name is so n so Trower", which is my name & my cousins mother's maiden name & a RARE name but he thought if he then mentioned that, the guy would just think he was a weirdo so he left without saying anything more! lol

OMG, I have a couple similar stories...When I was a kid in St. Louis, we had neighbors called the Millers. We never ran into them anywhere locally, but we ran into them in Williamsburg VA one time!!! But that's just the beginning...in 1999, my dad & I rode bikes across MO on this trail called The Katy Trail....While doing this we met this family called The Mooreheads doing the same thing....I wrote a series of articles for the local newspaper about our adventures...Then a few months later, my parents were at a bakery where Mrs. Miller happened to work & she had read my articles so when she saw my dad, she mentioned The Katy Trail....The woman standing behind my parents then says, "Oh my God, you are Dave Trower from The Katy Trail???!!! I'm Mrs. Moorehead!!!!" What are the odds?? But the insanity doesn't end there!!! One of the tiny towns along the Katy where we & Mooreheads both had lunch was where Mrs. Miller grew up!!! Like a town of 200!!!!

I joined in 1979.mWent to basic July 26, 79. It was a shock to see Vietnam members in all of our squadron flights. They seemed tiered and their uniforms were not the best looking. If you referred to them as Sir, they would usually say " Don't call me SIR, I work for a living." Many smoked heavily, and alcohol was their chose of friends. I was assigned my first dorm room. I thought wow I have a room. Well it was about 20' x 20' It was small and I am not sure of the measurements. But picture this. NO WINDOWS, a bunkbed against the back wall, the beds went right to left and only had 2 feet

Plus, the war in Asia was closing up and nobody was worried too much about having your clothes all nice, even the officers didn't care. But a big surprise when I got back to the USA again! Half the time I was in the Air Force I did have a room by myself. That was nice. See ya -- Atco

I can't really say I remember anything about vintage pc's. The 1st one I ever owned (and it was old at the time) was a Zenith Data Systems pc with windows 3.1 and I think the only thing I could ever do on it was play solitaire, lol. In office machines class back in high school I briefly dabbled with the "PC"s they had...a Wang, and an IBM Color Computer that took up most of a cafeteria table. I always associated computers back then with banks and punch cards and big tape reels, you know, stuff rocket scientists messed with. The first I ever went online was with a WebTV by Magnavox/Philips and the first computer I bought new was a Dell Inspiron in 2007 with Windows Vista. I've always been slow to adapt to new stuff. My first cell phone is my current one. Had a land line up till the year before last. My truck is a '98 Ranger and it's only the 2nd vehicle I've ever had with fuel injection. I must confess I'm better with carburetors, lol.

Hey Atco, good to see you. Nice to hear you talking about the early PC days. Don’t know if I ever mentioned it on my channel, I worked in the early PC days at a hospital, in the IT Department’s infancy. People probably don’t realize how expensive the early IBM’s were. We started putting our own together, as soon as the clones started popping up. I installed the hospital’s first network, a Novell operating system, to replace a dedicated word processing system. Those were exciting days. Cool seeing those Sitting there behind you. Take care old friend.

Started getting weird at the end, people getting promoted and hired for reasons other than qualifications, ticking boxes. I retired at a good time and I’m enjoying retirement, don’t miss work at all.
