how much did you pay for your van and how many miles .. im thinking about doing what you are doing i also have my cdl with all endorsements, im just tired of truck driving and i onlly been doing it for 2 and a half years.. i got offered a job at the docks here in philly doing local mon - fri for some okay money but i just dont have the erge to drive rigs rn.. i have my twic and hazmat and trips and double.. with no accidents

You don't have to pay me anything. This is just my opinion. Find a vehicle and get commercial insurance quotes. Sign up with as many delivery apps as possible. Also, get your MC#. You can find dispatch company everywhere, like on fb, Instagram Craigslist. Keep overhead low and income high. Make connections. Create a llc. The van business is not easy. State farm gave me a personal policy. I already had a policy with them. I just added the van. Allstate also would do it.

@DaHustlaTv I bought under my personal. I ended up signing up with State Farm like he suggested, which worked and now saving just over $200 a month with similar coverages! Hopefully at some time I'll get to the point where I need commercial insurance, but for now I don't.

Yo, Smoke, I'm on the same boat here in the DFW. The Apps are not consistent with the pay. Made 1,100 one week 320 the next. I tried applying back to company CDL jobs but not hearing back. Even thinking of getting back into warehouse work because I've fallen too far back.

I was an OTR driver for a while. I'm local now and looking to get into cargo van business. I have my LLC in just here to learn at the moment. I've seen some videos where they say it's not a good idea to start a cargo van business in 2024. Is it that bad right now?

If you're really wanting the big money in this business dont be scared to call or go in person to work directly with customers... Youll be saving them money cutting out the broker and also you cut out the broker/dispatch putting that money in your pocket. If you're local even better, a customer appreciates a local partnership. Get dedicated lanes/Quarterly bids out to these customers. If you using Gigs and delivering also ask to speak with the Logistics/Warehouse manager while there and see if you can get them pricing, its an easier conversation.. You gotta think outside the box or you will not make it. Goodluck all, I was a broker for 8 years and recently bought a Box Truck and Sprinter. If you have questions jusy ask, theres enough money in this industry for everyone to eat.. Dont mistake movement for progress.

I'm gonna follow your journey, my brother. I currently am a truck driver also but the container business got slow so I bought a 2018 Transit HR Ext. If you record from your phone you gotta turn it landscape for KZread also I would have put the load up against my divider so just in case you had to brake hard those bags wouldn't slide and bust open then you are gonna have some sweeping to do. If you have some D rings get those yellow 16 ft ratchet straps, I tend to use those the most over my thinner ones. Keep hustling
