You are missing a belt guard/guide that goes around the drive pulley that serves 2 functions. it prevents the drive belt from grabbing the pulley while the clutch/brake is applied making for easier and smoother shifting. The other is obviously to keep the drive belt from popping off the pulley. The belt guard also has 2 studs where a pulley cover is able to mount to.

Mower deck is supposed to run off the big pulley , the small one will not give you enough blade speed to cut well. . I think i remember you asking in the sears group. They are good tractors . Just mowed with mine yesturday.

Very cool old rider!! It has a great look that the new mowers don't have. I use about 3 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap in a Zep spray bottle and let it soak for about 15 minutes. Then hit it with the pressure washer. Alway's fun seeing the before and after. Great video.

Would love to know how you set up the pump flowing out of the canister...i know there is a pump but you hid really well! VERY NICE PROJECT! We will be working on ours soon! Do you think I can put this on a 4in rebar concrete slab or better off sitting it on the ground under some gravel? Thank you! Just an amateur DIYer here. :)

Dontou have a hobie? I have a scenario base question for you if you don't mind giving me your thoughts. I have a ladder racker wide enough to fit 4 hobies on it, but they will be secured on their sides using a T Slot J-Style Kayak Carrier. Do you think these things are gonna crack being on their side while driving down the highway? I mean they're gonna be secured and padded with foam... Just wondering if they can handle slight stress mounted on the side.

You need to rake the rocks out of the area first. The tiller will bring more to the surface. It's no different with a gas tiller. Seems an education in gardening is what's needed here.

Nice Astro! The Service AWD light with the clicking relay near your left foot usually means that the actuator motor for 4WD has an issue. There is a way to rebuild it. Someone on the Astro Safari Forum did a nice writeup. You could also be low on transfer case fluid. Use only the blue GM Auto Trak II fluid (or an equivalent), ATF/differential fluid does NOT do the trick! And nice on the bench! "Unfortunately" I have second row captains chairs (bolt in) and the rear row with the option to individually recline the outside seats. While more luxurious, the standard bench seats seem to be more practical. Edit: Until you fix the AWD actuator motor issue, you essentially only have RWD. Just make sure there is enough fluid in the case until you get around to fixing it.

Hey man, got your FB note - Yep, Mine is an '04, as well.... If you want to keep it, address that rust first thing - Really look into them "frame rails" under the unibody of the undercarriage because if they're too far gone it's going to be a real job. Rip that tow hitch off, cancer migrates. If you can get rid of the rust and seal it up with some paint/product then it'll be worth pumping money into it. I can see you oil pan is resting on the front axle shaft - Do your lift then contact Dave about the engine lift Brackets - Do a body lift up front and some s10 springs on the rear then adjust for ride height. I pretty much replaced everything and only have a few things left to replace at this point... Keep in mind on my videos, I did many things more than once because I kept learning so if you watch an older video on a particular subject you'll want to search to see the latest video on the same subject as I may have upgraded or changed my mind... Good luck

  • @RuffPlay

Thanks for the advice. I believe I've watched all your Astro videos at least once at this point, sometimes twice for some. As far as rust goes. I'm just waiting on some stripping disc's to come in the mail to start the project. It should go pretty smoothly since I only found one little spot that needs a weld. There's also an Astro enthusiast close by who sells body reinforcement kits. So no worries, all is good. Thanks Mike, take it easy 👍

I just bought that monitor a week ago, and I can confirm that without calibration, it looks very bad. The color temperature was also not pleasant, but after a day adjusting the parameters, I was able to achieve better contrast and a higher level of detail in general. On the monitor: In the "Gaming Intelligence" section, leave everything on Off or Auto. In the "Gaming" and "Game Mode" section, select the "RTS" mode, I would leave the response time on Fast and the adaptive sync On, leave everything else on Off. In the "Professional" and "Pro mode" sections, select "User" mode, I would leave everything else Off. In the "Image" section, the contrast should be at 70, the sharpness at 0, the color temperature at "Custom" and have the following values: R-80, G-80, and B-100. If you consider that the image is very cold, you can increase the red values, but this is at your discretion. You can adjust the brightness to your liking, it should not affect the color of the image but a lower level can contribute to an image with less bleeding and more detail in brightly lit areas. I would recommend leaving it at 50%. I combined this together with more settings in the Nvidia control panel: (I don't know what options could help on Radeon cards, sorry :( ) First in "change resolution" use Nvidia's color settings and change the output color depth to 10 Bit. Then in "Adjust color settings" lower the brightness to 47%, increase the contrast to 60% and the gamma to 1.15. Finally I raised the digital vibrance a little, to 55%. With this, the screen shows more vivid colors, with better contrast, a greater level of detail in the shadows and with a less warm color temperature. No monitor is identical to another, these settings worked for me but they may not work for everyone, so you can play with these parameters to leave the image to your liking.
