    Ah the good ole days of cable TV. When we first got cable in 1980ish nothing was scrambled, they used filters (which many people removed) on the line for HBO and Showtime and they used the knob dial cable box. Many people would set those up on their end tables, running long cables to their TVs, so they could turn the channel without having to get up out of their chairs. We did this until we found a cable box in a catalog that had a remote control. Then around 1984/85 the cable company scrambled every channel (except the locals) using a new technology that required a Tocom box at every TV. The one thing I didn’t like is when they put the local channels on different channel numbers, even with the box it was that way. But like you said, the locals would cause interference if they didn’t do it. Thanks for a ride down memory lane. 😊

    Don't know, but I think that's an infrared beam sensor, if you search KZread for "Ice Full Error Bypass" there are some other people with ideas. Would also try cleaning and making sure the wire is securely connected first...

    Do both of these have a line in? When I was a teen in 1978 I had a Sanyo M9994 that was I believe the top of the line and it had short wave stations and I was able to connect a turntable and it sounded like a high end stereo. I just back back into collecting boomboxes and stocking with the smaller ones bc of lack of space. I was avoiding these boomboxes that had the detachable speakers bc I always felt they weren’t as well made. But I just listen to a few on KZread, I was amazed by the sound and these are not as big as I thought they were. Also, with these vintage boomboxes, I think buying the more simple ones like no auto reverse may to better to hold up and even to fix. I think there is another model that looks more like the RX C45 that I saw on eBay, but I can’t remember the model number, but it’s not the RX C52. I was trying to get the RX C35 and it looked fantastic and had 4 speaker for a smaller boombox, but the one that was priced about $110. sold and the other ones with shipping was going for about $175. and a little too much for me. You can get many non completely working vintage b boomboxes for cheap, but bc I wouldn’t know what I’m doing, I sought I can fix and most likely make it worst bc I won’t know what I’m doing. Lol! Anyway, thanks for the comparison and looks like many of the C45 were sold and still many around. Wow! You got yours working for $10. and that’s like a cheap burrito.

  • @ACBMemphis
    @ACBMemphis18 күн бұрын

    Yes, both have a line input... Those Panasonic mini boomboxes with detachable speakers can sometimes be had for a lot less than "traditional single box" style and they sound great. Boom box is one of my saved searches on shopgoodwill, and the prices are very high. For example, last week I saw a Lloyds (cheap KMart brand) boom box that had an 8 track and dual cassette. I thought this would make an interesting video, so I bid $30 - and it ended up selling for $121. Unless you have major $$$ to spend, don't even try on the classics - there was a JVC RC-838JW back in February that sold for $427! Thanks for watching and commenting, and good luck on the collection.

    In my opinion Volumio is way to much into making you buy into their subscription. I really dislike being constantly forced / reminded to try features that are "sorry subscription only" - ok fine then don't show me that shit to begin with. The UI is way less streamlined then Moode - there's a third contenter to the piCorePlayer (and max2audio) - both being based on LMS should be warned about: LMS has been officially discontinued. IF you want to have a working setup in a few months down don't use any of them (I mean no piCorePlayer and no max2audio). Especially when it comes to Online-Radio ... TLDR: I can only recommend Moode for a "smooth" experience that just works ... despite its downsides / limitations.

  • @ACBMemphis

    @@ACBMemphis I had one and made lots of tapes on it and loved the sound. I later got more expensive Teac and Akai, but nothing sounded like the Advent, as transparent as vinyl to my ears. You had to hold the lever manually to rewind or FF. The Advent was actually a mod of a Wollensack.

This is a power over Ethernet camera, so depending on the distance and type of cable you might be able to use a shovel to lift the soil and then tuck the cable under. I'm a college student on a budget and made the mistake of buying the WF-4833 (AKA WTF was I thinking?) My Dad told me he's always had great success with Epson. I had this for the first semester and then ordered after market ink on Amazon. It then gave me an error message saying 'Epson ink not recognized', called Epson and couldn't even understand their tech support lady who didn't understand a word I was saying as she tried to have me clean the print heads! Bad experience all the way around and never did get the printer fixed and ended up tossing it in the dumpster....my advice is always get a laser printer from now on! Great video by the way!
