Seagram finished like a train, here, similar to Last Suspect, in 1985. Garrison Savannah's exertions in the Gold Cup, beating The Fellow by a short head, in a gruelling finish, probably caught up with him, right at the death...

Very poor commentary. He rarely mentioned Flakey Dove before he hurdled the last. He treated the horse like it arrived from nowhere.

Dreadful tactics by Golden Freezes Connections, obviously not Good Enough, just purely there to Hamper Carvills Hill, and lets be Honest try to make Him fall. Golden Freeze dropped back rapidly and pulled up. Its ok to Use inferior Horses as pace makers in flat Racing, but no place to use Horses inferior in National Hunt Racing, to try and stop a favourite winning Thankfully The Same owner and Trainers main Horse Toby Tobias was unplaced.

I still remember the controversy about the running of Golden Freeze. Some said he deliberately tried to put Carvills Hill off.Carvills certainly didn't jump too well.If you look at Golden Freeze pulling up at the top of the hill he still looked full of running to me (and no i didn't have money on Carvills Hill) Still it's good watching these re-runs.I still think Wayward Lad might win one lol

I saw Seagram win at Cheltenham before this race. The horse jumped from fence to fence and looked great. I promptly backed this horse for the grand national and told everyone I met to back it. Happy days. Well done, Seagram RIP.

I recall these highlights on the BBC at half-time between Holland v Denmark in the Euro Semi final in 1992. That England could have played in if Taylor hadn’t subbed Links against Sweden (who am I kidding- we were crap in 92)

The Fellow was one of my all time favourite national hunt horses. An absolutely marvellous competitor, just beaten by inches, two years in a row, I'm glad he finally won it in 1994. The mistake he made here, was that he pulled up too much towards jumping that last fence, giving the two other others, who were bigger horses, the chance in eating into his lead with their bigger strides. A great pity.
