  new booms already needs repairs, 1 year of service and need to change the whole boom for 45,000 euro! carbotech aint reliable... 2002year steel boom 5000 hours of puming still counting no problems.

  sorry to hear, but honestly this sounds like a very special case, as in almost 10 years of Carbotech machines on our market (Austria) we have not recorded any problems on the booms due to normal operation (i.e. not caused by accidents or misuse)! As far as international experience with carbon booms is concerned, we have received the same information from CIFA! Actually carbon fibre booms are structurally indeed much stronger / more resistant than steel booms, so probably your case is an exception, but obviously it is impossible for us to judge about it without any further information about the kind of damage, circumstances of operation etc.
