Knitting Expat Podcast

Knitting Expat Podcast

Hi I’m Mina - also known as the Knitting Expat - I started knitting in March 2014 while living in Dubai with my Husband and two cats as a way to keep me occupied while my Husband was away during the week for work, and I’ve barely put the needles down ever since.

In Feb 2015 we moved to Bahrain & due to several factors as well as attempting to get more involved in the online knitting community I decided to start a Podcast! Since then I started designing knitwear items, we have relocated (again) to New York City, & are expecting our first child in Feb 2017.

It has been quite the whirlwind ride since I made the fateful decision to start a podcast and I couldn't be happier with where I am now on my knitting/podcasting journey.

Please get in touch by either leaving me a comment or contacting me via any of the other social media sites I'm on ... would love to hear from you ... and if you have any questions or ideas for the podcast those would also be welcome ...

Mina

    The yarns you dyed have turned out so beautifully!! It was a pleasure to be there with you at your debut show - you absolutely smashed it. Throwing dye around - move over Jackson Pollock haha! So excited for all your new designs. xx

    I’m not sure what you mean? Of course there were lots of amazing dyers there but I can’t afford to buy stuff from everyone so I’m not sure what you expected me to do?

    Hi Mina, I like your Inside Out hat pattern. I wanted to knit the Musselburgh Hat but the cast on was too hard. The patterns essentially both end up with inside out hats?

  • @KnittingExpat
    @KnittingExpat6 күн бұрын

    I believe so yes … I’ve not seen that pattern myself but from what I’ve been told the final hat is similar but construction is different

    I'm currently in love with the visual appeal of these, being someone who benefits from cubic needles. How is the step-up on them from the metal to the wood? It looks steep!

    It’s not been an issue for me so far I’ve not really noticed the step up when knitting

    I've been knitting only two years. I began knitting English style, but am now attempting other methods. This seems more comfortable but my yarn slides back on my index finger. Is it just that I need more practice and keep it slow to maintain the correct motion?

    Mina bebeğinin parmağına hoşlanmadığı bir şey sürersen onu ağzına sokmaktan vazgeçer.Aksi taktirde bu şekilde devamlı ağzına parmağını sokup emdikçe boğaz enfeksiyonu sık sık olabilir. Bu alışkanlığından kurtulmasına yardımcı olmalısın. MaşaAllah güzel ailene.

    Good to see you, sorry to hear about Derek, have been down that road with beloved dogs. I am a big fan of chain plying as I like the clear colours. But plying with the white will certainly give you more yardage. Barberpole or marling seems to be very popular now.,
