  Hi Judy, depends on the painting, if I want super bold colors I’ll apply the inks dry then add the alcohol after to diffuse, and if I want a super blended or more muted colors I’ll wet the surface first! Thanks for the question, and thank you so much for watching 💕

  I’m a new subscriber. Thank you for sharing your art and technique! I’ve just purchased some ranger alcohol inks and I’m anxious to attempt this. May I ask if you find differences in copic ink versus ranger? And have you tried using gold powder instead of liquid? Thanks in advance for your help!
