I loved watching all of these as a child. Mr. Wizard's World made me love science.

it is really useless to differentiate between steam and vapour. instead they should focus on gas versus liquid. I’m surprised by how many wrong ideas and useless theories preceded our current knowledge.

So why don't we have shows like this anymore? Because you can't sell Mr. Wizard action figures, plushies, and stickers. There's just no profit in educating the youth when you can throw together a highly marketable cartoon.

It’s awesome to see so much of Watch Mr. Wizard and Mr. Wizard’s World on here, but whatever happened to the 1971 revival he did? Hopefully those aren’t lost.

I born in 1951 when I was old enough to watch the show. It was in black-and-white of course. Mr. Wizard was my hero. He treated the children with respect and dignity. I learned a lot from his TV show . Thank thanks for posting these videos on KZread.

Yes, don't use your best records! Ideally, the needle tip should be spherical: I think it's .005" for the old 78 RPM. Keep the good work up and some of us more mature people need to teach the kids basic technology!

Broadcasting from Chicago, Illinois, the original Watch Mr. Wizard ran on NBC for 14 straight seasons/years from 1951-65, then left the air for several years. A one-season revival ran in 1971, but the show came back in fore as Mr. Wizard's World on the fledging cable network Nickelodeon in 1983. 7 new seasons were produced. It produced 78 episodes from 1983 onwards, and continued to run thereafter as reruns. During its run on Nickelodeon, it was the channel's #3 rated show in 1983 (behind Livewire and You Can't Do That on Television). It was also famous for its Ask Mr. Wizard segment where Herbert answered questions sent in by viewers of all ages. It was canceled in 1989, though reruns continued on Nick at Nite until 1995 and often in early morning time slots right after Nick at Nite finished (usually as part of Cable in the Classroom) until August 2000. Episodes of this version of the show were reaired in 2005-06 on the digital cable channel The Science Channel. In 1994, Herbert developed another new series of 15-minute spots called Teacher to Teacher with Mr. Wizard. They highlighted individual elementary science teachers and their projects. The series was sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

A co-worker that would be Tuesday night? I worked with I was filling up. To sing at a job and I knew the world was scolding hot. But if they put their hands in it, they would have got burnt very badly. But since I smoke a lot of cigarettes, I can't feel anything. Most of the time. Because my body is numb from it like a good joke. Would do except smoking. Cigarettes is legal and everything else illegal.
